In raw form this tea is thin, long, black with some golden tips and curly. They have a dry and crisp to the touch with a smoky and leathery, malted scent.
Once steeped this tea is dark brown in colour with mature yet sweet wooden and floral aroma.
Flavour is delicate in comparison to it’s deep aroma. It’s sweet, smoky, slightly malted and mature but also with a delicate and fresh floral finish. Very different to the average black tea and I think it’s in a good way. You have the essence of black tea and 2nd flush Darjeeling in one delicious cup.
I will have to keep trying this one and experiment with stronger and lighter steeps, may also drop the temperature a little. So far it’s very nice and I’m happy that Canton supplied this. :)
