From Canton Tea Co

The Giddapahar Tea Estate is a small, family-owned Darjeeling tea estate and is also known as ‘Eagles Cliff’. The slopes are shrouded in mist most of the time, giving the Chinese tea bushes just the conditions they need to produce wonderfully fragrant leaves. Once they have been skilfully processed according to age-old methods, the Giddapahar China Delight Darjeeling is one of the very best teas available of this grade with wonderfully sweet, mildly nutty, complex characteristics.

You wouldn’t think a company that specializes in Chinese teas would know anything about Darjeeling. Well, given that this is called “Giddapahar China Delight”, I guess it isn’t too much of a stretch. This is everything one comes to expect from a first flush Darj; spice, malt, muscatel, magnificence, etc. It’s not quite as perfect as some of Giddapahar’s second flush teas, but it definitely holds it’s own torch.

Drinking this marvelous 1st flush today after a meal off my favorite dinner stewed porkmeat with honey and carrots and rice… This 1st flush tastes alot like the arya estate darjeeling oolong i had a while ago. It keeps up true 3 infusions while most black stop being very good with only 2. This one got in general a lot of the same tasting note’s then the oolong. But its less muscatel tinted and a bit more sweet, especially the sweet honey like after tastes is getting out, or maybe thats because i had a very sweet honey flavored main course… i love this one thats for sure!
