From Canton Tea Co

We are delighted to include this as one of our first examples of top grade Indian tea. It is a magnificent high grown Darjeeling from Margaret’s Hope, a tea garden that’s known and loved the world over. The long twisty leaves are a delightful mix of chocolate and copper browns with an abundance of silvery tips. It produces a bright gold liquor with a malty aroma, a well rounded flavour and a sweet, fruity aftertaste. This fresh, brisk tea denotes a well-produced, high grade Darjeeling. We only have a few kilos and then there is no more available – anywhere.

This is an AWESOME Darjeeling.

The flavor is so clean and crisp. I agree with TeaEqualsBliss on this one, there is a malty note to this, which I find to be rather unique for a Darjeeling. Malty overtone with a crisp, sparkling medium body. Not much astringency for a Darjeeling. A nice fruity undertone.

Delicious!

PS: Thanks to TeaEqualsBliss for sending me some of this tea! I’m loving it!

The second infusion is very flavorful – the malty flavor is not present as it was in the first, but I am getting a stronger sweetness and fruit flavor – I can taste hints of apple, grape and currant. Lovely!!!

I concur! I even gave it to my mother for Christmas…who – by sheer coincidence – is named “Margaret”.

@Geoffrey – what a lovely gift!

I’m totally diggin’ this one from Canton right now!

I like the 2nd Flush better than the 1st because it smells more malty and the taste is less leafy-astringent (I know there is a better way of explaining the taste but I can’t think of it at the moment)…anyhow…I like this – it’s good!

Both hot and cold!

YUM!

Sounds delicious. Sounds totally like my kinda Darjeeling. Thanks so much for posting this.

Very special Darjeeling. Rather light, so drink it on its own. Nutty with a bit of light fruit in the finish + a bit of malt.
