From Camellia Sinensis

(Foeniculum vulgare, Hibiscus sabdariffa, Citrus Hystrix, Mentha spicata, Stevia rebaudiana)

This tea is striking both for its flavor and the bright red colour of its liquor. The tartness from the hibiscus is pleasantly softened by the natural sugar of stevia. Fennel and mint, with their aniseed and vegetal notes, adorn the fresh and spicy bouquet of this bittersweet beverage. This aromatic and aniseedy mixture enables relaxation, calms intestinal spasms and promotes good digestion. The hibiscus and fennel, diuretic herbs, soothe irritation especially urinary tract / throat. They are also good for lowering blood pressure. Thanks to their essential oils, mint and fennel help relax the digestive system and cool the body during fever.

I don’t do these types of teas and so I have been brewing this for all the guests along the way this holiday season who were anti caffeine. It is crowd pleasing for sure with the hibiscus and minty freshness and the citrusy anise tones hitting the bittersweet buttons to give a most refreshing herbal tea. My only drawback is that it’s too strong if over-brewed, to the point of discarding and starting over so faites attention.
