From Camellia Sinensis

This is the first cake of Shou Pu Er with the Camellia Sinensis trademark.

From its dark leaves is obtained an equally dark liquor, sweet (sweet) and silky. The flavor profile is typical with hints of leather and undergrowth (resin) and is nuanced with cereals (rice starch) and camphorated accents. An accessible and easy to prepare tea.

Shou is right, this Pu-Erh is quite special. I’m not a big fan of pu erhs, and less of a fan of shous. I can appreciate that it doesn’t all smell like fish….but really not on my re-order list.

Camphor is the perfect way to describe it, with a chalky after taste.
