From Čaj Chai Teahouse

Chai is the most popular tea in India, everywhere you go the sound of a chai wallah offering “Chai, chai, chai, chai…” follows you.
Choco Chai is a mix of organic black tea, natural cocoa, aromatic spices, milk and sugar. The spices used depends on the region. We grind our own Čaj Chai blend, but you might find something similar if you were to travel in the Rajasthan region, where the Chai is strong and spicy, giving you all the energy you need to cross the desert! At our teahouse we offer the possibility of ordering Chai with non-dairy milk or without teine for all the Yogis and Yoginis…

Ingredientes: Organic Black tea, 100% natural cocoa, organic cinnamon, organic cardamom, organic clove, organic star anise, organic black pepper, organic coriander, organic ginger

My ex very kindly picked this up for me when he was on tour in Barcelona a couple years ago. This was the cutest chai shop I have ever seen, at least, according to the pictures he showed me. Looks like a quaint little shop, which as he described, as soon as you walked in, smelled very heavily of spices. Yes please!

The dry leaf is 3/4 cocoa powder and 1/4 spices and tea leaves, I’d say. Adding sugar and half and half instantly reminds me of my grandma’s hot cocoa recipe, which she makes with Fry’s cocoa, except this of course has the chai spices mixed in. I can’t taste the tea. It’s like drinking Aztec hot chocolate, except with cardamom and cloves added in with the cinnamon (and no heat, of course). This is so, so good.
