Devon Bartholomew Advent Day 15

Purple is my favorite color, so I’ve ordered a number of purple teas from different companies over the years. I was excited to see this one in the advent calendar! The leaves were a deep brown color and were tightly twisted and curly, looking more like a black tea. But it steeped up to a pale honey color and sips more like an oolong…super smooth with a nice buttery mouthfeel. The flavor is also oolong-esque: a nice balance of vegetal and mineral. Not my personal favorite profile, but it was definitely fun to try!

I’m a fan of purple too. It’s the main color I choose for my kitchen.

Inkling

How fun! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a purple kitchen.

Ooh what color of purple?

ashmanra

My daughter loves purple, and I love amethysts, much more than my own birthstone!

Dustin

I should have clarified that so far my purple kitchen has been limited to purple accessories. We just moved, but one day the walls will have purple wallpaper. I have the amethyst pyrex bowls and bakeware, purple ball jars, glasses, trivets, ect. Vitamix has a purple blending pitcher that I want. I like the more dark and muted purples like plum or aubergine.

Yeah, I couldn’t get into this one, as well, but I was hoping I would since I never tried a purple tea before!
