From Bitterleaf Teas

After taking a year off, we’re happy to have this Aofuhou Dancong back in our ranks again. Aofuhou (also known as Tifuhou, Tafuhou, Takuhou, etc depending on the transliteration from local dialect) is a sub-varietal of Songzhong and naturally has a similarly fruity and sweet character. As such, this tea has a lot in common with our 2020 Apollo Songzhong, and serves as a good stand in for it.

Fruity and juicy really are the best words to sum up this tea. This is evident as soon as you open the tin, as the fruit aroma is noticeable with both the dry and wet leaves. This is one of those teas where we can note with relative confidence a strong strawberry aroma, accompanied by a unique sweet potato fragrance and sweetness.

This tea offers a strong value as a mid-range Dancong. Made from quality, high mountain material, the flavour is strong and lasting, with a pleasant mouthfeel and good texture.

Please note that the 250g size does not include a tin.

$0.42-0.57/gram
