From Bitterleaf Teas

Yelai xiang (夜来香/night fragrance) Dancong is one of our favourite varietals. Similar to many other Dancong varietals that reference specific flowers or plants, this one is named after the cestrum nocturnum, a plant whose flowers open in the night and release an intensely pleasant and sweet fragrance. If you’ve ever experienced smelling this flower at night, then that provides a good preview of what to expect from this tea.

The material for this tea comes from high altitude, old bushes in Shitoujiao on Wudong shan. Unsurprisingly, this is a very fragrant forward and floral tea. The fragrance is both floral and sweet, and lingers well after you’ve taken a sip, coating the mouth to provide a longer lasting experience.

We highly recommend this tea for new and experienced Dancong drinkers alike. It offers an extremely pleasant drinking experience, as well as demonstrates many of the qualities of higher end Dancongs without the same premium in terms of cost.

Please note that the 250g size does not include a tin.

$0.52-0.67/gram
