This is one of those teas where the name says it all: This tea is really sweet.

Made from shaihong (sun baked) Yiwu material, this tea starts off with a light sugary sweetness that lasts in the mouth. As the dragon ball opens up, the flavour shifts to more of a honey quality.

Caramel, brown sugar, honey, etc… you may or may not pick up on any of those qualities. Or not. We don’t want to be too suggestive, but this is certainly a tea that offers levels of sweetness.

In typical Yiwu fashion, the soup is also well rounded and smooth, producing a pleasant feeling in the mouth.

This tea is offered in dragon ball format only, with each dragon ball weighing approximately 7 grams.

I’m going through these dragon balls slowly, since I know Bitterleaf is sold out of them. So good! Definitely honey notes, a bit of caramelized sugar, and a starchy, bread-like finish. It goes strong for many steeps – I got seven good ones (and a weak eighth because I always try to go too long to get as much as I can out of a tea that I can resteep). Thoroughly enjoyable, and comforting to have since I’m on the last bit of All Day Breakfast, which I will miss greatly.

Grandpa Style!

Chose to brew this grandpa style so that I could come back to the it off and on throughout the work day, and my big takeaway is really just that sweet is definitelyyyy the right word for this tea. Though it started a little on the lighter side with brighter notes of honey, it’s settled into a very rich and golden syrupy profile with practically all the decadent brown tasting notes I could want: caramel or toffee, brown sugar, and so much malty, decadent and starchy baked sweet potato. I’m sure it’s also amazing when brewed gongfu, but wow, this is a pleasant and super no fuss tea to enjoy this way. It was such a grounding presence throughout the day!!
