Strawberry & Kiwi (Magic Fruits)

Found two tea bags in my huge bags.

Very straweberry; the kiwi is almost non present. Base tea was present as well.

But overall, somehow artificial. Strawberry – artificial, but quite juicy. Kiwi adds little and pleasant sourness. And that taste of kiwi, I don’t know how to describe it. But it is very weak.

Not bad, but past from it’s best times.

Nice, slightly sweet tea with a strong strawberry flavour.

GCTTB DAY 1

Third sample tea today, and I finally got lucky! Mm, this one is quite yummy. I knew pretty much as soon as I sniffed he dry leaf that I was in for something good. The strawberry and kiwi are not overpowering to each other but are nice in combination, fresh and lively. The Ceylon base is a little bold, I’m glad I didn’t steep it longer than a couple minutes. It’s just on the border of getting too astringent, but thankfully still on the delicious side! Quite happy with this choice. Tasty afternoon treat!

From the Great Canadian Tea Box Round 5

I like the smell of this one. It’s this super strong artificial strawberry smell that reminds me of gummies…I keep thinking of the haribo pigs, were those strawberry flavoured? The taste is less intense, but I also find it kind of soapy and bitter. I might have over-steeped, I tend to go for 4 minutes for black teas, but maybe I should have stuck with 3 for this one.

I feel like this might taste better cold than hot, so I stuck it in the fridge to cool off a bit and I’ll probably add some agave or something and see how things go

NEVER MIND i tried to put it in the freezer to speed things up and dropped it on the floor. oop.

This is one of the teas that I picked up at the tea festival yesterday. I like it. The flavours of strawberry and kiwi are straightforward. The strawberry is brisk and the kiwi presents itself as tanginess. Enjoyable cup.

The second steep is nicely flavourful as well. More so than I had anticipated.

How i got it: Got a bag in a trade with my sister, long time ago.

Experience: Last tea in the ‘Magic Fruits’ assorted pack. This one has an intense strawberry-candy aroma, with a hint of kiwi that appears from time to time. The tea is almost imperceptible in this respect. On the taste side, along with the sweetness of the strawberry scent, I can taste a fizzy sensation very similar to the one in the Mango & Pineapple tea I tried earlier, which is probably due to the kiwi. The scents are less dominant in the flavor side, so there’s a little more space for the tea to express itself. Mild intensity, relatively well balanced and good duration. I expected a bit more of this one, to be honest, but it retains the Basilur standard of quality anyway. Good.

Would i buy it?: There are some possibilities, but I’d give preference to other teas in the pack.

I got this tea thanks to my brother, who took me to the PuroOlivo store in Santiago (Chile).
When opened the teabag package it was like an explosion of scents. It mainly smelled like gummy bears. Delicious. I thought it would be very artificial because of this first impression, but after the steeping, I sweetened it a little bit and got to take a first sip.

I wish it could taste a little more like kiwi than strawberry, but knowing that strawberry is much more dominant and more people like strawberry than they like kiwi, I think that can’t be changed. (If they were to upgrade their brew, that’s the only thing I would suggest. More kiwi)

Overall, this is a nice summery tea. Goes good with a good book to read or some pages to write. I imagine…

Though, it’s not one of my favorites, I would recommend it.
