What’s in it
Green tea.
Where it’s from
From grower Furuichi Shoji. It is grown in the old Samurai town Chiran, in Kagoshima prefecture, Japan. Here, the climate is ideal for tea – warm air mixed with cool breezes from the Bay of Kagoshima.
How it tastes to us
Sweet, thick and full-bodied. A grassy and vegetal green tea with
refreshing astringency and light cream aroma.
Why we chose it
To introduce Japanese green tea to our tea box subscribers. A clean green to help you recover from the indulgence of Christmas.
How we steep it
O5 Tea showed us how to steep this one in three ways. A simple steep to make a cup or two, a refreshingly sweet & fruity cold infusion, and an espresso-style first infusion. For the details, check out our blog.
Why we like O5 Tea
In our goal to support local and amazing in Vancouver, O5 Tea is an obvious choice. One of the partner’s at O5 is the Tea Hunter and his tea sourcing stories are so engaging he’ll have you quitting your job to hunt teas yourself. He gets you to do things no normal tea drinker
would do, like drink green tea “farmer style” where you munch on the leaves after each sip.
