From Alphakitty

Day 9: Nine Ladies Dancing. This made me think instantly of fancy holiday parties so I wanted to go with that theme. I did a custom mix of two teas. The first is Teatime Tea’s Lady Earl White, a white-based EG with lavender and rose, with floral elements fitting for festive ladies. The second is Upton’s Earl Grey Creme Vanilla, a black-based tea to add a bit of creamy decadence fitting for the holiday season. This tea is best brewed with parameters for a white. There is also edible glitter in the mix, to add some sparkle!

What a lovely tea and a beautiful interpretation of 9 Ladies Dancing! I love how AlphaKitty thought of fancy holiday parties and chose Earl Grey teas as the bases for this custom blend that she created. The result is a delicious tea that is subtly Earl Grey-ish, with lovely notes of lavender and rose, and a creamy overtone. So really delicious and luxurious … and indeed FANCY!

YUM ~ AlphaKitty, my dear, you could probably do well selling this blend … I’d certainly buy it! (And I’d buy the candy too!)

Thank you Alphakitty for this yummy blend! I can taste the lavender and rose in this blend as well as hints of the cream on the finish of this tea. The funny thing is for the longest time I thought this package would contain a Lapsang. At least that’s what the package smelled like (I didn’t open…just sniffed the wrapping paper). So this delicate EG was a super nice surprise! And I LOVE the added Toffee which goes REALLY well with the tea. I might need the recipe! Ok no might I do if you are willing to share!

The recipe is quite easy and works great with matcha! I posted it here: http://steepster.com/Alphakitty/posts/137400

You could also infuse the butter with tea, I’ve tried it before with chai and it’s delicious

on the 9th day of christmas tea swap, Alphakitty gave to us…some delicious toffee and a custom blended tea. I’m going to have this one again when i’m not so exhausted as i’m pretty sure i goofed on the steeping. I really did enjoy getting to try a new tea out – especially since it’s a custom creation! I’m not quite ready to tackle that kind of amazingness myself :)

Thank you Alphakitty!

This one is pretty forgiving on time (not so much on temp), and should be good for at least 3 steeps if you do mess up the first one! I tried to include a lot since I know whites can be finicky

Thanks to Sil for passing on some of this from last year’s Christmas swap! I found it to be quite enjoyable – lavender EGs on their own are a bit potent, but mixed with the EGC? Delicious! Not overly floral, but flavourful and different. I’m not catching a great deal of bergamot, but I am guessing that neither of the two teas involved in the blend were particularly bergamot-heavy. A tasty treat!
