From Ahmad Tea

The distinctive flavor of apricots makes this black tea particularly wonderful. Surprise yourself and your guests at teatime by serving it hot with warm scones or iced with fresh fruit. Add a slice of lemon if preferred.

Another solid fruit tea from Ahmad. The flavor tastes natural, like fresh apricots. I think this would be great as an iced tea or cold-brewed.

Made this tea hot and could not enjoy it until I iced it. It has a nice flavor once iced, but just tastes like hot water otherwise. Definitely only recommend cold.

Sipdown! (44 | 318)

From my October Sips by box. I’m actually pretty happy with the selection this month, at least theoretically. I do find it weird that they don’t seem to choose teas that fit the season, maybe that’s because they want you to buy their themed boxes…

Anyway, this is a pleasant enough tea. I do wish the apricot was a bit stronger though, since it’s not like the base tea is amazing quality. I do taste the apricot, it’s not subtle or anything, and it has a fairly authentic flavor. It blooms a bit in the aftertaste, leaving a nice tart finish. The black tea is smooth, a bit malty, a bit biscuity – a nice enough foundation for the flavoring.

Just a bit more apricot would make me like this a lot more, I think.

as with all Ahmad’s offerings, the fruit flavoring is done up to a T (a tea!).

unfortunately, i wasn’t exactly craving apricot at the time i tried this, but it was still a lovely flavor. i added brown sugar & soy milk (as per my usual).

after all was said and steeped, i got the impression of apricot vanilla ice cream! given that description alone, i should probably be playing jazz flute and walking on tables, but it just. didn’t. hit the spot.

to be honest, i was craving CS Nutcracker Sweet (butter caramel) & Blackcurrant by Harney & Sons at the time. should have gone with my cravings.

it is worth noting that this tastes nearly identical to Ahmad’s Peach & Passion Fruit. perhaps i should do a steep-off so i can report back.

i like this one too. ibet it would be awesome iced at summer time

boychik, you are absolutely right. was in fact going to mention somewhere in my note that the aroma of the steeped tea smells like it would taste wonderful iced. i think that’s the way to go with this & Peach/Passion Fruit.
