Hot, this tea is magical. It’s warm, full-bodied and really strong.There are chais that are more herbaceous, more floral, and then there are chais that are more peppery, and this is the latter. This tea is smooth and not sweet at all. However, once it cools, it becomes really bitter and astringent. The body of the tea also becomes sort of powdery as it cools, which is not my favourite. I don’t love to drink my teas with milk, but this might be better served as an actual chai rather than black, which is how I take it.

This was a really unremarkable chai. About what I would expect from any chai, really. Maybe a little fruitier than others? Not my favourite, but definitely drinkable.

There are a lot of chais in this box, and it is SO WARM here right now. Well, not at work, but in my apartment during the evenings. I might need to make some iced chai lattes to try some of these teas.

It doesn’t often get very warm here, but I got mild heat stroke on my hike Saturday (It was 38C at one point, ugh. Thank goodness for swimming in glacial water and also a shirt that cools as you sweat, somehow. I know. Weird, right?). This, combined with ongoing heat and afternoon sun at home, means that going home to a hot apartment = sitting around in underpants in front of the fan, not cooking or making hot teas to drink. :D

I think (?) this is what I’m reviewing? I have two chais here, and I forgot which was which. From the ingredient list, this looks like what I should be drinking… I need to look at my pictures… yep, this is the spicy chai.

I’m finding it really drying, and spicy, but more that it’s got a lot of spice in it than any sort of heat. Very thick, full bodied chai. Bitter as it cooled as well, which blows.
