From Absolut

Introduced in 2010, ABSOLUT WILD TEA has already become a favorite in many bars and homes. The black tea from China meets a Scandinavian summer day in this premium vodka unlike nothing else. Across the world, there is an explosive consumer interest in tea, but prior to the release of ABSOLUT WILD TEA, the flavor had been overlooked in bars. Combined with Scandinavian elderflower it brings real excitement to any drink.
What does true taste of wild tea taste like? .
ABSOLUT WILD TEA brings together the dark notes and mysterious richness of black tea, and the delicate character of Scandinavian white elderflower. It has a rich, fresh aroma with hints of red apples, black tea, elderflower and citrus. The taste is smooth, floral, naturally sweet and with a pleasant dryness.
The ABSOLUT way of making vodka .
In 1879, Lars Olsson Smith introduced the continuous distillation with which he made Absolut Rent Bränvin (Absolute Pure Vodka). Instead of distilling the vodka the usual three or four times, the vodka was distilled an infinite number of times. ABSOLUT WILD TEA is made using the same methods, the only difference lies in the taste of oolong tea and elderflower. And, like the rest of the family, it’s produced in Åhus, L.O. Smith’s birth town. Since the production method will never change, neither will the true taste of ABSOLUT WILD TEA.
Keeping natural ingredients natural .
The main ingredients in ABSOLUT WILD TEA are ABSOLUT VODKA, oolong tea and elderflower flavoring. ABSOLUT VODKA is made from water and winter wheat. The water comes from a deep well in Åhus where it’s protected from impurities. The winter wheat is also grown in Åhus and differs from other crops: it’s sown in the fall, and harvested exactly one year later. The wheat grows during Sweden’s chilly winters and develops its hard grain. Days in between it grows under the Swedish snow developing its hard grain. Also, the use of fertilizers is minimized. Of course, the tea and the elderflowers are as natural as the rest of the ingredients.
Some tips on absolut wild tea enjoyment .
In the world of premium vodka, there’s nothing quite like ABSOLUT WILD TEA. Give your cup of tea an extra kick with a few drops of ABSOLUT WILD TEA. Try it with iced fresh lime juice and simple sugar for a special fruity and floral gimlet. Balance the tea’s exclusive darkness with sweets and sours, such as lemon-lime soda or ginger ale. Or take it in a different direction by combining it with tea and honey, mint, or dry white wine. Or neat in a chilled aqua vitae glass like Swedish snaps.

Mmm, tea plus alcohol, we meet again.

This smells heavenly. Fruity, lemony, sort of like a good Earl grey, but very sweet. I know it’s made with oolong, but I can’t tell by the scent. I’m taking it as a shot, since that seems like the best way to judge the taste.

Oh. Wow. This tastes like Earl grey, too, and it’s wonderful. However, it doesn’t taste anything like oolong. I kinda get the feeling that they don’t expect people to know the difference, as with lots of mainstream pseudo-tea products. But I’m going to have to snag a bottle in case they discontinue it. It burns just enough, and it’s not as sweet as I was expecting. It’s clean, it’s zesty, and it gets you drunk. This is going to inspire some interesting mixed drinks.
