Another tea out of my box from Meghann. (You’re going to see lots of notes start out like that for a bit!)

Smell of the dry leaf: Dr. Pepper. Now, you may not think that’s a bad thing, but to someone who really, really doesn’t like Dr. Pepper…and the brewed cup smells kind of like Dr. Pepper, too.

Thankfully, it doesn’t taste like Dr. Pepper. More like a really, really strong black tea, with a syrupy cherry flavor. Not sure it’s going to be my cup o’ tea (hehe…I’m so funny at 4:30 in the morning!), but will play around with time/temp and see what comes of it.

And is anyone else stalking 52teas’ website to find out what this awesomeness that Frank alluded to is going to be? Or is it just me?

just started my stalking, but maybe I should actually open my email and see if it got sent out! Nothing yet :(

Jaime

I’ve been stalking since Monday morning, not gonna lie. Been excited ever since he posted on the wine teas thread. Perhaps I should avoid it, though…what am I saying? It’s like crack, and I’m an addict.

Meghann M

I should probably avoid it too, but I can’t, Or I won’t? Either way, I hope it’s a great blend from Frank….I forgot about the mention of wine teas…maybe there will be another facebook deal?

Southern Boy Teas

No need to stalk the site any more. The new tea is finally here.

Totally, completely, utterly worth the wait!!

I think I’ll have to play around with this one. Tried to make iced tea with 4 tsp in 16 oz plus 16oz ice. Steeped the tea for 3 minutes and got such a tannic taste in my mouth I had to dump the whole thing. I will have to try with less tea…or wait and try it hot. I don’t think these cherry teas are for me. Been an anti cherry day. Grabbing a coke zero for the road…giving up on tea for the afternoon :(

Opened it and the smell of cherry drops hit me. Hm… I was really hoping it wasn’t going to taste like cough syrup, but I needn’t have worried, it was pleasant and more like cherry tart along with the basic black tea. Smooth. Second steeping just as good.

Very disappointed in this one. The cherry flavor is pretty blah and leaves a chemical/plasticy aftertaste in my mouth. The black tea component was standard for 52teas, so no surprises there. Didn’t absolutely hate it, but if you’re looking for a GOOD cherry tea, I’d recommend the Bing Cherry Vanilla from the Republic of Tea.
