A while back, 52Teas had a special Buy 3 get 1 free offer… and this was my free tea that was “randomly” sent to me, although I do think that Frank made an excellent choice since this is one that I haven’t yet tried but have had on my mental list to purchase soon. I have tried his Pomegranate Honeybush, and it is one of the best flavored pomegranate teas that I’ve tried to date, so I have high hopes for this one too.

Nice! This is one that shouldn’t be judged on first sip. The flavors develop as I make my way down the cup, and now the pomegranate is delicious – sweet and tart, just like a real pomegranate. The black tea base is strong too, both flavors stand their own very well. I’m glad I decided to try this today!

This is one of our bestsellers of all time. In our brick and mortar shop in Wichita, KS, we are constantly having to re-blend this tea. Mandy, one of our regular customers, once told me that she really thought we should rename the tea “Mandy’s crack”. After a moment of consideration, she decided maybe that wasn’t such an appetizing name.

A woodsier tasting black with medium strength pomegranate flavors. Not too shabby.

The loose material for this tea is pretty basic. You have an Indian black tea, with occasion safflower and some pomegranate arils thrown in. The aroma is notably sweet.

One brewed, the liquor turns to a slightly dark amber hue. The aroma from the spent leaves and liquor are brisker and less sweet than that of the dry leaves.

The flavor is much less astringent than I expected. While there is a slight dryness that persists on the outer edges of the tongue there’s a lingering sweetness through the tail. Unexpectedly there’s no real tartness such as you would get with an actual pomegranate, but I think it would have destroyed this tea.

Just had Pomegranate black tea from 52 teas. I had no idea there were so many pomegranate flavored teas! Well, it wasn’t anything special, actually, even with its gorgeous
safflower petals sprinkled through the premium black teas. Looks good, tastes okay, but I must admit I was expecting something spectacular. May have been the time of day, and the fact that I was drinking it quickly while working on the computer! I’ll try again when I can take it easy and appreciate it more, perhaps.
