Tea of the Week for March 21, 2022!

Wow! I love this blend!

I’ve been tweaking the black tea base just a bit – Still the same components (Assam, Yunnan & Ceylon) but now there’s more Yunnan, a little more Assam & a little less Ceylon. The change has given our base a much needed lift: it’s richer and less astringent. A bit more solid & much more pleasant to sip.

This is the first tea with this base. To the base, I added freeze-dried plums, allspice, nutmeg & my own recipe of essence to create a clafoutis flavor that’s sweet, creamy & delightful. It’s also organic, VEGAN, gluten-free, allergen-free & all natural.

organic ingredients: black teas, plums, allspice, nutmeg, calendula petals & natural flavors

Fun to see another clafoutis tea! I definitely enjoyed the green version more though. This one tastes primarily like black tea with a bit of fruit below that is pretty plum-like. This was tasty enough with some milk, but didn’t end up standing out in any way.

Sadly I feel like I want to like this tea more than I actually do in practice. The concept is just so, so good! As I was drinking it, though, I just wasn’t getting plum and the combination of floral undertones and spices made me think a bit more of potpourri.

Noticed some plumminess as it cooled, but neglected to note anything else.

Sidenote, I am irritatingly missing a handful of 52teas that I know I have somewhere. Gotta find them so I can finish my challenge. I think I have around 25 unique blends left, plus a few reblend odds and ends that I’ll also hit if the packet is already opened.
