I really enjoy the flavors in this tea, but it’s only good for one or two brews. On first brew, it has a charming pinky-rose color that’s just so #aesthetic but it’s very pale upon the second brewing, and the tang from the hibiscus is really reduced, as are most of the fruity notes. It’s still drinkable, but it’s not nearly as rewarding as the 2nd or even 3rd brew of the coconut oolong I picked up at the same time. This saddens me, because I really appreciate being able to stretch my tea through multiple pots while working. It’s not the measuring out fresh tea that bothers me, it just feels wasteful to toss it after one pot…but that might be a ME problem?

Anyhow, I find this tea really pleasant to drink, and will drink all 100g I bought, I just wish it translated to more pots of tea. Given all the chunky fruit in this blend, it didn’t even fill the tea canister completely- by comparison, I could only fit 50-70g of the coconut oolong in the same size canister.

drank Coconut Oolong by DAVIDsTEA

This is the first tea I’ve tried from David’s Teas, and it’s pleasant! I don’t drink a lot of oolongs, so I wasn’t sure what to anticipate from this tea, but it’s a really smooth combination. I’ve been drinking a lot of Pinky Up’s Coconut Cream which is a white tea and coconut with some floral dashes and have enjoyed that so I knew coconut in tea is fine by me. For this tea, the coconut is definitely upfront and spreads across the palate, but it’s not artificially sweet or overwhelming. Then the grassy notes from the oolong sidle up and give it a little spine. I’m just having it hot without any additives, and I can see sipping this to warm up while studying and enjoying it. Unlike the energy drink created by Hide on the Office, the coconut flavor is pretty strong and definitely tends to linger… I like coconut, so this is fine by me, but I can see how some people would be turned off by it. If you’re a coconut fan, this tea could be for you!

drank Aztec Sweet Chili by Yogi Tea

I bought this because it was cheap and I had optimism for the combination, but it just wasn’t something I enjoyed. With creamer and honey it’s a lot more interesting, but for now I’ll use it to marinate chicken or fish…

drank Breathe Deep by Yogi Tea

This tea does it’s job fairly well, my lungs feel clearer and breathing feels easier after drinking a cup. I like to mix it with other teas so that it’s less intense, but I enjoy the floral-sweet aftertaste. As others have said, just inhaling the steam feels therapeutic.
