drank Gyokuru Black by DAVIDsTEA
3 tasting notes

Just received this tea in the mail today, and had to make a cup immediately!

As I poured the water into the pot, I knew it was going to be different, just from the smell! I used more tea then was recommended on the bag as I’ve been having problems getting a decent cup of tea (ie one that doesn’t taste like colored water…). I used 6 tsp for 3ish cups, and let it steep for 8 minutes.

The smell was quite strong, and the color was a deep amber. I put a bit of milk in it (I never drink tea without milk!), and took my first sip. It was surprisingly good! A very different taste than regular tea, but good! It is strong, I think I’ll use a little less or steep it for not quite as long next time, but I was pleasantly surprised, especially after the problems I’ve been having!

The description from DavidsTea is quite accurate, I think, I can definitely taste the fruit and honey notes!

All in all, a great tea, though it has a very distinct flavour and I think it would be one of those flavours you’d either love or hate!
