Taste-wise, this isn’t my favorite tea. I’m not a huge fan of licorice or fennel.
But this tea really helps out my throat. I don’t know what’s in it that makes your throat feel actually coated and soothed, but it’s amazing. I add in agave to coat it even more. This tea is always in my cupboard, for myself and for friends who get the wintertime sore throat.

this tea is considered a pouchong, which I had never heard of before this summer. I wandered into a cafe in Seward, Alaska where they carried a coconut pouchong, and I was hooked. Months later I wander into the Mad Hat Tea Company in Tacoma, Washington where the owner gives me a generous sample.
“So what do you think? Are you floating?”
Boy, was I. Could it have had to go with a warm shop and hot tea? Perhaps, but “floating” was the perfect was to describe how I felt. It’s a light tea with a strong coconut flavor that is perfect for any time of day, any occasion. I went through the bag in about a month and a half and was happy to make the trek back to Tacoma (I live in Olympia) to get it. Now I’m sitting with the first cup from a new bag, floating.

I have finally found the perfect after-dinner tea. I wasn’t too sure about the mix of mint chocolate and rooibos, but it’s totally a match made in heaven. The scent of the tea is almost overwhelming, but the actual taste is much tamer, but just the right balance of chocolate and mint, with the earthier rooibos taste underlying it. And since it’s rooibos, so without caffeine, it’s great for after late dinners. unfortunately, the second steep loses almost all chocolate and mintiness, and tastes like a more watered-down rooibos.

this tea is intense. not in a good way, not in a bad way. just… intense. that’s not saying i don’t like it, because i do. but i really have to be in the right mood for it. usually that “mood” involves whiskey, because this tea is hands down the best hot toddy tea out there.

I’m not the biggest fan of fruity teas but I love this one. Add a bit of soymilk and a drop of agave and you got yourself a rich little treat. My only complaint is that it could be more gingery.

A blend from a local Anchorage, Alaskan company. It’s a perfect blend of not only jasmine and rose but of black and green tea as well. How I miss this tea shop!

I am also a big fan of this tea! I’ve started adding other blends from Summit, as they are expanding locations (and I believe have a website up!)

so light and jasmine-y. brews perfectly every time and i can get about 3 infusions out of it. Saw it at the tea bar at my local grocery store and tried to resist, but I kept coming back just to smell it. Finally caved and don’t regret it one bit.
