Yes they are kind of pricey. I love my Japanese Cast Iron Tea Pot and my two pink glass tea cups and coasters. My mom got me the Tea Pot for Christmas. Yes I bought tea from them one time. I spent $25 dollars for 1/4 of a tin of tea. It was a treat. But the price really isn’t worth it. But I do like learning about tea from Teaologists.

I like that they have a tea bar there. You can try a cup of tea before dropping the big bucks on a few ounces to take home. I read today that Starbucks (of all places) has acquired Teavana. They are comparing Tazo tea with the quality of Teavana. Really? Tazo, howbeit delicious, is not in the same league as Teavana.

Teavana is a great way for people to become informed and intersted in fine teas but their prices are far above normal for what you are getting. I can get the same tea types for half the price or less from Tao of Tea (taooftea.com) and I would trust the quality from the latter company far more. Nearly all of the teas available for sample in the store are blends so you would have to spend a fortune on multiple teas to recreate what you tried. As far as their teaware, my fiance bought me a cast iron pot and we found it online for half the price. It was returned.

Great place. Great selection. Delicious teas. From my experience, there is always at least 5 teas (some classics, some more sugary mixed goodies) to try in the store, which is great. Employees are maybe a little bit too insistent and i personally don’t enjoy that they add sugar to the samples they make. The ambiance is classic. They will make you any tea to go. Teas to go are a little bit pricey but they’re good so you forgive them :)
