Bayswater Tea Company Edit

Pretty pleased with this store. There are local ceramics, cutesy ceramics, honeys, chocolates made with tea, other knickknacks, and then the tea itself. What I tried is all pretty decent quality at very reasonable prices. I mostly tried herbal/fruit teas and flavoured blacks. Not much that’s super duper fancy, but definitely a worthwhile alternative to the flavoured teas from Teavana or DavidsTea. The person working when I went in dealt with 4 of us and our ridiculous lists. We each ended up with about 5 teas, and we felt welcome to sit at the tables and divvy everything up.

I don’t like this place. I’ve walked in a couple of times and it feels like a great big warehouse. The window is always stuffed full of tea junk. It just doesn’t feel inviting. It’s too bad, because they’re in a great place to develop a strong following. I’m sure they sell retail tea (because they’ve been there a few years now), but I can buy tea anywhere. Having looked at their teas, I suspect they, too are making their own blends from the same old teas distributed by one company in Canada.
