This is a very popular tea shop in Tokyo, and I was so excited to see that they have shops in the Bay Area when I moved back here. Their teas are very high quality and each is very well thought out. Definitely recommend this shop for Japanese green teas, traditional and flavored. But I find myself trusting them with my black and herbal tea selections also. I usually have 4-5 kinds of tea by them, and buy loads of “Good Morning” black tea for daily drinking. If you buy enough, they sometimes have an offer to add you to their mailing lists where you will receive a monthly newsletter with a free sample. I used to get these in Japan and it was pure delight to try different teas every month. Wish more shops offered this!

The people who work here are very helpful without being annoying. They are great at making recommendations if you give them your taste preferences.

One of my favorite places…

A very large selection of tea out in display containers to look at and smell on your own. The staff is incredibly attentive, almost too helpful at times—thankfully in a good way; not like a pushy car seller. They will brew up a very generous sample of any tea you’d like to try to help decide if it is the right tea for you or not.

I’ve never had a visit that was less than great, even when they were very busy during the christmas shopping season!

I’m blessed to have a Lupicia in my hometown and where I did my undergrad. Lupicia is definitely one of my favorite vendors for flavored and Japanese teas.

This is one of the few Lupicia stores here in the U.S and the customer service I’ve received has been outstanding. Though they can at times give you the impressing that they are watching everything that you are doing, the employees are knowledgable in both where the teas you are looking for are located and are great at reccomending teas. Upon purchasing your tea at this store, they give you a sample, either loose leaf tea or teabag, and an issue of their monthly magazine.

The bottom line is that this store provides excellent service and a great selection of tea.
