26 Tasting Notes
A great fall flavor for me. I’ve stockpiled about 3 tins of this because it gets rare during the winter, spring and summer months.
Like said before, it’s very subtle. Try it with honey with a long, long steeping time.
Learn from my mistake. Do not make it into an iced tea. You will regret it.
Preparation
One of my favorites from Indigo.
It’s a real classic and has a very subtle but memorable taste. Pretty aromatic, but it’s just an extremely comforting tea. Make sure to steep it in really hot water for a while to get the maximum flavor and bitterness.
Preparation
If you ever get the chance to visit Indigo Tea Company in Burnsville, MN, try out Neal’s selection of rooibos teas. The guy is one of the nicest people on the planet, and truly knows his tea.
My girlfriend purchased this for me, and it’s unbelievably aromatic and delicious. It’s a bit pricer, but that’s the price you pay for green rooibos. It has a real flavorful punch, even without sugar taking the edge off. Terrific as an iced tea.
Preparation
Not great, but it meets that standard Republic of Tea tastiness. It isn’t bad by any means, just not a great tea.
The lady who sold the tin to me insisted the flavor is “not quite a raspberry and not quite a raisin. It’s somewhere in the middle, there.”
Preparation
It’s chamomile. What else can you say? This classic tea is awesome at calming your stomach after a huge meal.
Little known fact: if you’re a tea bee like me and have more access to tea than simple necessities like burn cream, you can steep a cup of chamomile, put it in the freezer and use the drink to treat burn wounds.
Preparation
This is one of the finest teas I’ve tasted. I have anxiety issues that run in my family, and I began taking St. John’s Wort as a supplement to help keep the ol’ noggin stable. Problem is, taking 3 pills a day can get kinda annoying.
So, I was overjoyed to know that my favorite tea company – the Republic of Tea – was churning out a product that contained a standard dose of St. John’s Wort that didn’t taste like cat pee.
The aroma is awesome and the taste is absolutely wonderful. Super tasty, and brilliant even without sugar. It helps with the anxiety, but it also helps with the thirst for tea.
A ballpark win in my opinion.
