A review of Maple Blueberry Tea by The Metropolitan Tea Company

Company: Metropolitan Tea Company
Tea Name: Maple Blueberry Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: black
Region: India
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ tea bags
Liquor Color: golden brown / color of maple syrup
Leaf Characteristics:

Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 190 Fahrenheit
Time: 3 minutes

I ordered this tea around Christmas time last year because I wanted to enjoy some of the maple flavors that is to be found in tea’s mixture and this tea seems to do just that. This is Ceylon tea from the Nuwara Eliya mountain regions of India; offering a combination of attraction, such as healing climate, scenic beauty and wooded wilderness, flowery meadows and its high plateau.

The teas’ produce in Nuwara Eliya are of a unique flavor as the air is always scented with the fragrance of cypress trees that grows in abundance and mentholated with the wild mint and eucalyptus.

It is a combination of all these factors that makes this tea so special. The tea bags are in a foil packaged and as I open the foil to remove one of the tea bags, I get a slight hint of the maple, as it is sweetly permeating the air. I place one of the bags in my cup adding the boiled water to it. I leave it to steep for several minutes.

The tea’s color is that of maple syrup with a sweet aromatic brew. Tea is very light when tasting/sipping of the tea. It is smoothly hot and lively cup of tea. The flavor flows through and through; lasting until the very last drop.

2nd Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes

The longer the steep the maple flavor seems a bit less each time, yet still enjoyable. The tea retains its reddish brown coloring with slight hints of the maple for aroma; it is smooth with a good blend in body for the taste makes you want to have more and more of this tea. This second steep would make a very good iced tea. Since I like my tea hot, this is how I continue to enjoy it.

Overall, this Ceylon blend with the maple is exquisite and it is nice as one sip the tea to remember of the lush mountain where the tea originates.

A review of Pomegranate Pizzazz Tea by Bigelow Tea

Company: Bigelow Tea
Tea Name: Pomegranate Pizzazz
Tea Type/Varietal: herb
Region:
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ tea bag
Liquor Color:
Leaf Characteristics:

Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 3 minutes
I thought that I would give the pomegranate pizzazz a try seeing that it is similar to the Blackcurrant tea that I have enjoyed in past and all Bigelow teas I have tried have been wonderfully good.
I take one of the tea bags from tea cupboard upstairs and add this to my cup with the boiled water over it and leave it to steep for few minutes.

The tea darkens to a lovely rosy red in color; a darken crimson and smells wonderfully of the pomegranate, making for a sweet, fruity aroma. When I sip of the tea, it is indeed pomegranate blend and very sweet…licorice like

2nd Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes

I steep the tea using the same bag for several minutes and the teas aroma is as before; a sweet liquor but more like wine with hints of blackberry and hibiscus as this gives it its tartness.

Overall, tea has a lovely fruity aroma, made up of pomegranate, hibiscus, blackberry leaves and apple. The tea’s color is a rose-red-pink and when tasting of the tea, it is sweet with a drying effect upon swallowing of the tea. And there is a tartness that adds to this dry feeling in the back of throat. I would say that this tea is on the acidic side as well and by this I mean high salt (salicylic / saline) content.

This tea is very similar to the Blackcurrant Tea from London Fruit and Herbs Company; only the color is that of grape.

A review of Lemongrass Bamboo Leaf Tea by Bamboo Leaf Tea

Company: Bamboo Leaf Tea
Tea Name: Lemongrass Bamboo Leaf Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: bamboo/herbal
Region: Florida
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ tea bags
Liquor Color: light brown
Leaf Characteristics:

Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 3 minutes

I am having more of this because I really would like to experience some of the benefits that this tea is supposed to offer. I wish for better increase flexibility and aids muscle repair; essential for bone growth and density; 4% soluble fiber; promotes healthy digestion; aids in weight loss; help regulates blood sugar and contains antioxidants.

I am trying to make this a regimen and hope for the above results since weight is always an issue with me. And besides that drinking this tea is good; nothing specifically about it other than I know I am drinking something that is good for me.

2nd Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes

After the first steeping I generally want to leave the tea bag in my cup and simply add the already boiled water to it and drink it.

I do not seem to be inventive with this tea at all. I hope it is tea for human and not for animal. Oh my, the mind is rotten with guilt and paranoia since I am being bullied but only perceived by me. All that I see only I see it. What bothers me is only seen by me and it is my fault for being bothered.

A review Orange Pekoe & Pekoe Cut Black Tea (100 Tagless tea bags) by Super Saver

Company: Super Saver
Tea Name: Orange Pekoe & Pekoe Cut Black Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: black
Region:
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ tea bags
Liquor Color: reddish brown
Leaf Characteristics:

Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes

I fixed for me a simple cup of this tea prior to a morning walk. I buy this tea because it is inexpensive, and I realize my money would work best on things I like regardless of the cost. So I will not give in to impulse to purchase these brand names simply because I am in a store and they sell it and it is for a dollar or such.

This tea is fine for a good cup of tea. I take one tea bag and put this in my cup adding the boiled water and leave it to steep for five minutes. I like how the tea colors to a brightly reddish brown…that amber glow when held directly in sunlight or light fixture. The aroma is that of a full bodies roast like tea. And sipping the tea it is not astringent instead it has that creamy finish quality of a malt drink with a slight drying effect when swallowing and I think this is because no cream or sugar has been added to the tea.

The tea’s tannins seem more prevalent with nothing added to the tea so the overall tasting and lasting impression is dry and perhaps wanting more to quench taste buds.

A review of Bamboo and Lemongrass Tea by Bamboo Leaf Tea

Company: Bamboo Leaf Tea
Tea Name: Bamboo and Lemongrass
Tea Type/Varietal: herbal
Region: Florida
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ tea bag
Liquor Color: light brown
Leaf Characteristics: The teas are individually packed in tagless tea bags half of my order is of Bamboo and the other is of Lemongrass.

Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes

I take one bamboo tea bag and one lemongrass tea bag and put them both in my cup and adding the boiled water into my cup I leave it to steep for five minutes.

Tea’s color is the lightest brown to a golden honey color when steeped for longer and the aroma is of warmed grass on a sunny hot day; like when out in the fields knee deep in plants/weeds/herbs etc. and it is warm and the aroma is sweet and pungent of plant and herbs.

I sip my tea slowly while holding this image in my mind since here in Massachusetts it is a very cold and windy day and the herbal tea is warming me up and filling me with thoughts of spring.

2nd Steeping:
Water temperature: 190 Fahrenheit
Time: five minutes

I am able to enjoy this tea for the rest of the morning right into the middle of the afternoon when the flavor and aroma is so mild and faint that it becomes like I am simply drinking a glass of water that is mixed with something very faint.

In all, I have been able to enjoy the bamboo tea with not much literature to go with it. I am stating what it makes me feel like to drink it and it has been good.

A review of Organic Rock Oolong by Tea Savant

Company: Tea Savant
Tea Name: Organic Rock Oolong
Tea Type/Varietal: Oolong
Region: Fujian, Taiwan
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ loose leaf
Liquor Color: light green/brown in coloring
Leaf Characteristics: The leaves are tightly rolled pellets and when immersed in water become fuller leaves as they bunch atop of the water in the mug to resemble green veggies creating an aromatic brew of cream of broccoli; except this is tea and much, much lighter.

Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 3 minutes

I am finishing this Organic Rock Oolong which has been most enjoyable for me. What I liked best of this tea is that it a green tea; that of veggies, the likes of broccoli or green beans. I don’t know why with each and every brew of this tea I am met with that cream of broccoli aroma and I am not expecting or thinking this.

Overall, this tea is as described by Tea Savant: It is bold and strong, with a rich base. Oolong tea is a high brow tea, this one is exceptional, making it one of our choices for its VIP status. Organic tea retains more genuine tea flavors.

A review of English Tea No. 1 by Ahmad Tea

Company: Ahmad Tea
Tea Name: English Tea No. 1
Tea Type/Varietal: black
Region:
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: tea bag
Liquor Color: reddish brown
Leaf Characteristics:

Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 3 minutes

I purchased a cup of this tea from a small sandwich and snack shop one morning while waiting for the library to open. It seems I am always waiting for the library to open, since I am not employed and can’t drive myself about; I am dropped off too early prior to businesses being open. I am a vagrant of sort.

Anyhow, I bought a cup of this tea since the associate of this shop said this was the only tea that they had or carried. It was a good cup of tea. It was nicely hot, that aside; the tea was smooth with a good heft in the body; tea’s aroma was that of a roasted brew. I mean it smelled strong and when sipping this tea it was malty with a smooth finish. I did not add any sugar or cream. I simply had it as was given to me, plain and it was quite enjoyable.

Overall, the tea was a nice blend of Ceylon tea with a smooth texture and not robust enough as Assam teas tend to be.

I know that I enjoyed the tea from beginning sip to ending sip.

A review of Breakfast Black Tea by Bamboo Life Tea

Company: Bamboo Life Tea
Tea Name: Breakfast Black
Tea Type/Varietal: black
Region: Florida
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ tea bags
Liquor Color: dark amber / brown brew
Leaf Characteristics:

Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes

I finishing the last of the tea samples given to me with my order from the Bamboo Leaf Tea and today it is to be their Breakfast Black tea. I put this one tea bag in my cup and added the boiled water to it and leave it to steep for five minutes.

Tea’s aroma is of a strong flavorful cup of tea; by strong I mean that the brew’s is of medium body and brisk when I sip and sip of the tea. I think of a Ceylon mixture and possibly combine with Assam for its robust ness which is on the mild side. I drink this tea plain as I do not feel a need to adding anything to it.

2nd Steeping:
Water temperature: 190 Fahrenheit
Time: 3 minutes

I continue to enjoy this tea with somewhat cooler water and steep for less time than first cup and it seem the tea is better, it is brisk with a smooth finish on the palette since I did not notice this smoothness when the tea was very hot. So in all this blend has a smooth texture, rolls of the tongue nicely gliding down the back of the throat.

In all, this tea has no after taste, it is not astringent; Tea has a smooth, and cleanly feel with a creamy texture finishing.

Region: Tailand
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup / tea bag
Liquor Color: orange cream
Leaf Characteristics:

Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: less than a minute of stirring

I fix for myself another cup of this tea as my mid day snacking. I wanted something rich and filling and I find this Thai tea to do just that. I empty one packet into my cup and add the boiled water and stirring it until all the content is dissolved. The tea has a creamy froth and is rich with the flavoring of orange cream or of sherbet as I like to think of it.

I simply drink and drink my tea until all gone as it is that good.

I like to drink tea less so than when I was aptly reviewing teas. I find that I like less and less of things as I age. I am a somber spirit who prays daily to not be at all. Thank you Steepster for all that you do to enrich tea drinkers.
