12 Tasting Notes

My afternoon staple, but it works just as well in the late morning. I find that steeping at 4 minutes at boiling produces a great pot of tea for afternoon drinking; steeping for 4.5 to 5 minutes produces a pot that stands up well with milk. 4 minutes at boiling brings out the coca aroma nicely. A wonderful, versatile tea.

A word to the new tea drinker: if you are going to invest in a tea like this, invest in a thermometer so you can get the steeping temperature correct! It’s too expensive to guesstimate; I speak from experience on this point. Guesstimated the first two pots I brewed, then bought a thermometer and followed the steeping directions. VOILA! A very tasty, refreshing tea. It’s light and has a melon-y, berry-ish cup. Takes very little sugar. Treat yourself!

I’m a single dude approaching the age when I can no longer refer to myself as a “dude” without general snickering commencing. I am a computational research specialist/data scientist/system administrator currently working at a large public university in Texas where I am also working on a Ph. D. I’m in denial that my puppy is 10 years old and getting arthritic. I really like to grow things but I love to travel.
