I had the pleasure of sampling the tea by the Ghograjan Tea Estate at the San Francisco 3rd Tea Festival and it blew my mind! I purchased both this and their Orthodox tea there.
Already just smelling the tea lures you in with a strong, fresh and inviting scent of typical Assam tea. This tea is more dominant in its flavor than Ghograjan’s Orthodox tea. It has a distinct maltier almost woody taste with hints of a captivating sweetness that envelopes the palate after each sip. It pairs well with food such as fruit or even a richer meal as it doesn’t overshadow but rather enhances other flavors. I regret not having bought more as this is by far one of the best black teas I have tried to date. Plus, it was a pleasure to meet the people behind this tea and chat with them as they were incredibly sweet and kind.
