19 Tasting Notes
I love mango like I love peaches. So this tea was a “MUST TRY”. Preparing it like I do with all my herbal teas. I awaited for the smell of the contains in the pouch was pleasant. My first attempt to taste its revealing nectar the tea was still hot (stupid me). My actual first sip was greeted by mango. The mango flavor from the liquor was not strong or little, but inviting upon my pallet. It was completed with a bitter taste that left me puzzled. Was this the taste of the passion fruit? I waited some more to see if letting it cool would make a difference. This was better for you had the mango with a touch of passion fruit. I will say that this tea is not one to serve or drink when hot. Let it cool for a few minutes to enjoy its liquor.
Preparation
My sister slipped me a bag or two of this tea. Reason is simple, “If you like licorice then you will like this.” Ah, a challenge to the tea lover. Here reason was that it was something different and wanted to know what I thought of it. At the end she later gave me the rest because . . . that is right she did not like it.
Me on the other hand did my sensory (like at work for Nestle). The scent was of licorice (well what expect from a strong plant in smell and taste?). Noticing the the liqour held the typical color that the black tea gives. A sip (the first initial taste test) it did not matter what else was on the label as ingredients, because you are exposed to the flavorful discharge of licorice from the liquor. This might be to much for a person who does not care about licorice, but for me it was welcomed with another cup.
I will suggest this as in the catalog as nothing more as a dessert tea. A tea to be served after dinner alone or accompanied by some shortbread cookies (one of my favorite cookies for tea time). It is not a tea that I will drink all the time though.
I wonder if my teeth turned black like from eating black licorice? LOL
Preparation
I have found one of my favorites if green tea. I was in the search for a lemongrass one without a lot of bells and whistles. It delicately touches the pallet making it enjoyable plain or adding some lemon juice with honey (I mainly add this when sour throat or cough entraps me). You can find this always in my cupboard ready to steep.
Preparation
I went to Starbucks on my way to my sisters to fix her computer. I was sick on a cold winters day and need aid in this trek. Ginger is good for your health as green tea. So I made a purchase and headed on my way. I did add a packet or two of honey to it before leaving (later I tried it without). It soothed my soar throat and warmed me up. I enjoyed it so much I continued to drink it through the winter.
The flavor of the liquor was not bold (the ginger) but pleasant to the pallet. The liquor has a nice color of a golden pear.
Preparation
A nice cup of tea with its balance spice and sweetness. I will agree that this tea is addictive, because once you have a cup you can’t stop. This reminds me off the lattes that I use to have, but then my doctor requested that I lay off the caffeine. Besides that I think I need another cup of it, LOL.
Preparation
Yes, I know that Chai tea is a spice tea served with milk (like a latte) or not. Maybe I am not a spicy type of guy. This tea has the black tea as a base with spices. In my opinion it is strong on the spice. As the liquor touch my pallet I was instantly struck with cinnamon (and maybe ginger) that overwhelmed me.
I have tried other Chais, but this one wouldn’t find a place in my cupboard.
Preparation
I like how the loose leaf tea reviles all of its bounty. With this one you can see the orange peel, apple, flower petals (rose). This filled the room with an aroma that reminds me of spring or autumn. The cup was a nice red with a sweet taste some what bitter of citrus.
Excellent for children who might not enjoy tea or just don’t want to give them sugar.
Preparation
Excellent tea for two to share. The black tea with rose hibiscus and chocolate (strawberries?) has a good balance. I heated up the water to 212 since it is backed with black tea. Let it step for 5 min (I let my tea maker brew it for me from adagio.com).
As it touches my pallet it first seem to have the sharp taste of black tea. The chocolate sooths the tongue (not candy chocolate, but from the plant). With an accent of a sweet touch. I do not know for sure if there is strawberries (are there any in there?) in it of if it is the rose hibiscus that I am acquiring this taste from.
Bottom line a nice mellow cup to share like a valentine.
