I enjoyed this tea. It tastes like herbs. And flowers. Because that’s what it is! :)

Seriously though, the quality is quite nice. I let it steep for quite a while, until the water cooled down enough to drink without discomfort. The flavour was mild and soothing. Looking at the contents, the blossoms have a nice yellow colour, almost like corn meal.

A good selection, indeed.

I simply love this tea! So delicious. I’ve personally picked Sweet Gale in the wild and made tea from the fresh leaves. The flavour is gentle and gets sweeter the longer it steeps (hence it’s name-sake). Highly recommended.

It’s okay, but not extraordinary. Like any other average black tea I’ve had. The tea bags are of the circular design, hence the contents are the typical ubiquitous black powder that has become oxidized over time due to a greatly increased exposed surface area.

While it does not have any additional flavourings or colours added (this is a good thing), ground up tea powder will always be sub-standard to loose leaf tea in flavour and medicinal quality. 3/5 stars.

Today, my brother and I tried one of our favourite flavours of tea: Jasmine!

This type was deliciously rich in it’s flowery flavour. It’s aroma was strong even before the tea ball met the hot water. Happily, it was also completely free of the all-to-common bitter tastes most store bought teas bring with them. Over the years we’ve tried other jasmine teas from other companies, including the strange jasmine teas that are ubiquitously available in Asian markets. This is head and shoulders above the rest.

We enjoyed this tea very much, and look forward to many more cups to follow.

I found this tea company recently, and they’re quite different from what’s out there. Instead of a tea bag, they use a custom made “tea ball”. I’m going to try their other teas soon, but so far the Gunpowder tea has been very impressive because there was no harsh flavour or unpleasant bitterness. I was able to reuse the same tea ball for 3 cups of team, and the flavour actually improved the longer it sat in the water. Normally if I leave tea to steep longer than 3-4 minutes it becomes very bitter and unpleasant. Not so with this tea. Again, very impressed.
