Great tea shop. They have a great, diverse selection of good-quality teas. I’ll definitely return next time I’m in Tacoma.
After spending the whole summer in Nashville, and as a tea lover, I can’t believe I didn’t find this place sooner! The fact that such a great traditional tea shop can be found in a sleepy strip mall in Franklin is astonishing. They were really enthusiastic about getting everyone from the tea novice to (relative) tea expert involved in gong fu tea preparation, and they had us sample a wide range of teas. I urge you to sample their oolong from their village, as it’s one of the better oxidized Chinese oolongs I’ve had. They have a fantastic selection of teaware, including a number of various tea trays, one of which I bought mainly due to their exceptional sales skills (you probably will go home with something, as I was happy to do).
Awesome independent teashop that really feels like the heart and soul of East Nashville. Their carefully curated selection of oolongs (predominantly Taiwanese) and Japanese greens (these fluctuate with the seasons, with big shipments in the late spring/summer) is top-notch. Their flights of tea are great ways to compare four teas side-by-side (same water temp). Additionally, there’s something to be said for their wide variety of herbs and spices that they carry.
They have a great selection of curated teas, including, notably, a number of rotating pu-erhs, as well as a great selection of teaware (including for matcha). They serve great lunches, and their shop itself is a really nice place to hang out and talk about tea.
