My Birt & Tang order has come through so I can try several of their blends. This one tastes and smells like cannabis (apparently). You can’t taste the raspberry unless you really look for it, but I quite like that. You’re meant to brew it for 5 mins but I might try less next time

This is from Kerala in South India. My friend brought it back from her holiday, and I am very excited. She is a brilliant person. This is a nice gentle black tea that requires no milk. Once I have had some more I’ll write some more comments on this, but I thoroughly recommend it!

This was the other tea that the Red Cross sent me. It smelled a bit like PG Tips and I was worried it would taste like that too, but it was actualy a very good breakfast tea. It was dark and excellent with milk, but less strong and more smokey than some breakfast teas. If you ever come across it, it’s worth a try.

This is a really nice light refreshing tea to enjoy. It is quite flexible about how long you steep it and does not require milk. I had two of my largest cups today :-)

Onto the next packet. I like this, but I am keen to try some other ones soon to see whether they are as good

This is the best I have made this tea since I started commenting on here. Strange that it is so variable – I think it must jst be very sensitive to brew temperature and time. This was hot water but not boiling (90 degC??) and brewed for 3 mins. And awesome

The Red Cross sent me a tea bag. It’s as if they know me really well! I always thought that a Kenyan and Assam blend would be incredible, but I wasn’t as impressed as I was expecting. That said, the assam flavour was very tasty with tastes of berries. A final comment: I didn’t let it brew long and it went very strong, so ifyou drink this, be careful not to over-brew

That’s the end of that tea as well. Not the best oolong I have, but a solid one and just as good on the second steep as on the first

This tea has been polished off now. I let this get very strong and just added a bit more milk, but it worked okay. A little creamier than I would have like, but nice

Yummy. I wanted a strong-ish green tea flavour before bed, and this was ideal

Bio

I moved from the UK to Australia in 2015. I’ve had a fascination with tea since university, and like to try lots of different types. My preference is for real tea over other infusions: green tea, oolong and black, including flavoured varieties. I love encouraging people to try new teas. I also play the trombone.
Ratings:
>90: Some of the best I’ve had so far.
80-90: I love this tea, likely to buy again
70-80: Good tea. Most tea in my cupboard is in this category because it’s fine to drink it all day!
50-70: I’d drink it if it was offered to me, and I’ll drink what’s in the cupboard, but I’m unlikely to buy it again.
<50: Glad I tried it, but it’s not very nice.
