2021 Sipdown Progress Wrap-Up

Another year of sipdowns is behind us! How did you do?

Here are some of my musings looking at my sipdown progress over the last year.

Total New Teas Tried:

213 teas

Total Sipdowns:

264 teas (or approximately 6,590g of tea!)

Goals Accomplished:

-Finished off all 2017 teas in my stash
-Finished all free samples from Tea Festivals/Expos (but not full purchases of tea made at Tea Festivals/Expos)
-Kept orders to a minimum (only two “large” orders, one for my birthday and one for the holiday season, which made any significant difference to cupboard counts)
-Surpassed 1k tasting notes on Steepster

Goals Unfulfilled:

-One gong fu session a month

Goals for Next Year:

-Finish off all 2018 teas in my stash
-One gong fu session a month (can I make it happen this time?!)

What Worked for You

-Placing a few teas of different types (a couple caffeinated “morning brews”, a cold brew tea, a few herbals) in a dedicated corner next to the kettle and only swapping them out once one had been completed and taken from the corner worked well to push me through large bags of tea that are difficult to sipdown!
-Drinking “sampler” orders right away rather than hording them within the cupboard stash.
-Getting a Co2 infuser (DrinkMate) and making tea soda pop!
