Electric Kettles

LOL, I just threw one of those away last weekend. I was very excited when I first bought it but then the way all of those work, I never found much use for it and it sat around collecting dust.
I found it very slow heating water (much slower than my Kamjove pot), found the timer too restrictive (6 hrs I think was the maximum, so it would have to be on, un-ecologically wasting electricity for several hours before I needed it in the morning. It annoyed me having to go to boil first, then back down to a temp I could use. With my electric Kamjove kettle, I take it off the heat as soon as it reaches the temp I want. The available temps were either higher or lower than what I like for Oolong (the pot offered I think, 190 and 204. I like 200). I had a smaller pot than the one you got, but I never came close to using its 1.5 liters of water for my morning tea. Using less water didn’t improve the heating time or work that well and it didn’t work well with less than .5 liters water. Most days I don’t even drink that much in the morning. So I either had to use re-boiled water the next day (or two) or dump the unused water out and replace with fresh.

I think these are fine for more than one person each drinking more than a cup or two (if they all drank and brewed the same tea at the same temp) or at a business if you drank tea steadily all through the day and didn’t want to wait a minute or two for water to boil.
