A very refreshing tea but too minty. I know it’s mint tea but still I would like that it wouldn’t burn out my tastebuds. I’m kinda sorry I didn’t spare some of the sample to try making cold brewed iced tea…I think it would be perfect for that :)

That awkward moment when you drink the tea and you double check that the tea you steeped comes from the box you think it comes. That was kind of the feeling while drinking this, cause it tasted NOTHING like Da Hong Pao should.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a solid tea – great package, nice looking leaves, good smell of them, nice coloring, good taste, sweet aftertaste, gets lots of steeps…but what this tea is not is Da Hong Pao. It tastes chestnuty which is more in the Tieguanyin area of teas than Da Hong Paos.

I’m not a world class tea expert, but this is simply in a COMPLETELY different world than Da Hong Pao (Big Red Robe) of Verdant tea. It’s like comparing coke to orange juice – they are both good but they are not even remotely similar.

I know nothing of Zisha tea company but could it be a quality issue? I know Verdant is excellent tea.

It’s supposed to be a black tea with qualities of himalayan and oolong teas. And it kind of looks like that too – semi brown, semi green, some oker color or something. It smells refreshing and taste somewhat interesting. It will not be on my in-love list, but it’s a good tea nonetheless.

The tea smells just amazing – like a sweet caramelly coffee, but in the taste there is only coffee and it’s like the perfect thing if you also like coffee. If you don’t and you’re only a tea lover then I would not recommend this tea to you. But to all of us who love both beverages, this is a really awesome tea!

The Marzipan aroma is too strong and the black tea has too much kick – I think they should have picked a softer tasting black tea like Assam for this aroma. Otherwise it smells absolutely fantastic and leaves a nice aftertaste.
