The unsteeped tea smells green and sweet. A very nice sniff lol.
As to flavor, it is good. This is very much a sencha that I would suggest to others, but is not a love for me. I like it, it’s grassy and crisp and sweet and just generally pleasing, but I’m too limited on space to keep anything other than an all-out have-to-have at this point. I look forward to giving it away so that someone else can love it.
Preparation
I’m on my second cuppa now and I must say I LOVE this! This is a clean but strong “hardy” green. It’s a little grassy, yes, but top notch regardless!
The first infusion was sweeter and the 2nd a bit more grassy. I enjoyed both, however.
I don’t think LiberTEAs was silly at all saying she waited to open this package because it was so beautiful – as I did the same! LOL
Regardless if I am speaking of the sweeter first infusion or the not as sweet and a tad bit grassier 2nd infusion – both infusions were strong and crisp! They were but very pure and clean tasting and of high quality.
I completely LOVE this club! Learning, Sampling, Appreciating!
Life is good!
This is the last of five teas that was sent in the ITFA Global Tea Tasting Club’s August shipment (or at least, the last for me to taste). I held off on trying this one… because, well, (and this is going to sound silly) the package was so beautiful, I didn’t want to open it. After I opened the package and put the tea into a tin, I carefully peeled the label off of the gorgeous package so that I could save the packaging for a future art piece. It really is beautiful.
And the flavor is just as beautiful as the package! Sweet and vibrant. Lovely crisp flavor that is both invigorating and soothing at the same time. A wonderful tea.
As an aside, I have to say that the teas I received in this first package from the Tea Farm Alliance were all incredible.
