I guess this is an ok assam but its just not as good as some assams that I have had. This tea is brisk and robust but I can’t find any wildflower notes or really any notes except some astringency. I really need to buy some good assam teas but I promised my wife I wouldn’t until after vacation. We are spending 3 weeks from Maine to Florida and she knows I will find some tea to buy. So, if anyone knows some good tea shops on the east coast, please let me know. I don’t mind driving a little out of the way. I won’t purchase any more of this tea as I would rather spend my money on excellent tea.

This is a brisk, robust, and malty tea. That being said I still miss the underlying nuances that I get with very good assams. The tea has a very clean taste without chewy notes that I like. I’m so hard on doing notes on assam teas. I guess I’m still down about The Simple Leaf closing. I’m going to miss Mountain Malt. This is a good assam, just not a great one. I’m still looking.

This is a much better tea with a 4 minute steep. It has the maltiness of an assam with the brisk and robust taste. It is also a very clean taste without any of the notes I have come to expect with an assam tea. There is no bitterness or astringency associated with the 4 minute steep. If you like a very clean tasting assam with no aftertaste you will like this tea. I miss the layers of flavor I have come to expect from excellent assams.

I found this tea at T.J. Maxx (1/2 price) to take on vacation next month. It has a unique steeping system built in to the tea bag. The bag is very large and has wings that pull out on the sides of the bag that fit over the sides of the rim on your cup. It actually works very well. The tea is typical assam. Its robust, brisk and malty and a good wake up tea. However, it just doesn’t match Mountain Malt. It doesn’t have that bready notes that I find in very good assams. The tin suggested a steep of 4-5 minutes, I used the latter. It did have some astringency so next time I use 4 minutes. Its still a very nice tea just not up to the fanatical standards I use for judging assam teas.

Super yummy and soothing. Slightly sweet, minty, but not overpoweringly so. Nice lavender kick. One of the better tisanes that I have tried.

Very interesting looking lavender tea, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Nice afternoon tea. I added some looseleaf green tea to it and put it in the french press instead of the fancy steeping bag that these come in. Will enjoy this again soon.

This tea comes in a “whole leaf pre-measured pochette”, basically, an amped up version of a tea bag. It’s nifty to prepare. It’s just a basic green tea, my grandmother gave it to me and the date on the packaging was over a year old, but it wasn’t opened yet and in an airtight tin so I gave it a try. I think if it were fresher it would have a more pronounced flavor so I squeeze in some lemon and honey to give it depth.
