Very happy with this as a daily tea! Strong smoky smell and flavor (duh). A strong secondary flavor of blueberry. Smooth, but with a slightly chalky texture (I’ll put up with it). Moderately dry finish.
Stands up to multiple steeps, too.
Flavors: Blueberry, Smoke, Wood
Preparation
This tea is sweet and floral, very much living up to its name: vanilla and jasmine. I tried this tea back to back with Tealuxe’s Buckingham Garden Party blend, which is earl grey and jasmine; ultimately, I prefer the earl grey blend since there is more complexity in flavor. This tea is simple, and a bit one-note. However, it is tasty and smooth and everything you expect from its description.
Flavors: Cream, Floral, Jasmine, Vanilla
I bought this tea for the jasmine and I must say I love it in combination with the citrus cream of the Earl Grey. It is traditional, with a bit of a spring-time, lady-like twist. I drink my teas black, but I will have to make an exception and drink this one with a bit of milk, or as an iced late to bring out the creaminess.
Flavors: Bergamot, Citrus, Cream, Floral, Jasmine
I have continued to purchase this tea for over 5 years. It’s one of the best lapsang souchongs I have ever tasted. I’ve shared it with everyone from family and friends to office mates. It has a deep smoky, bacon aroma and a dark red liquor. The taste is a compliment to its aroma and has a slightly astringent mouth feel. Highly recommended.
Flavors: Smoked
Preparation
I ordered a fig formosa tea with brunch at the inimitable Sonsie in Downtown Boston. They are now out of stock, and since Tealuxe, a fellow local business, is also out of stock of this rare tea, I imagine that they are where Sonsie found it. I instantly wanted to order some myself, it is uniquely delicious! Rich and lightly caffeinated, it would make a lovely afternoon tea.
Flavors: Fig
Very little taste. It makes the water green and using a tea ball in my mug (at work) and hot water of indeterminate temperature from the spring water dispenser, I was expecting more than just bitterness and a little mouth feel. Perhaps it would be better in a pot with more experimentation.
Preparation
this tea is a delight. it’s mild, and slightly reminiscent of unsweetened marzipan (which would make sense, given it is almond flavored). It’s not a showstopper in any grandiose way, but it is always pleasant to have in your cabinet. The almond flavor compliments the rooibos more than the other flavored rooibos’ I’ve tried from tealuxe, I believe. all in all, a sturdy and worthwhile addition to your cabinet
Flavors: Almond, Marzipan, Vanilla
this tea is by far my favorite tea. of all the teas I’ve ever drank. It’s the one that most friends request the name of after trying, and works deliciously as a hot or cold tea. the scent is divine, and the coconut flavor is not that overbearing artificial sort of coconut flavor I’ve tasted in teas of a lower caliber. 10/10 cats would recommend.
Flavors: Coconut, Wood
Preparation
I tried this and Tealuxe’s Unity blend back to back. The Unity blend had a focus on lemon and mint, but this is all ginger! I love ginger, so this is an obvious blend for me to brew. The licorice root is just a hint of sweetness at the back of each sip. While there is spearmint and rose hips listed as ingredients, they get lost under the hot ginger. Tealuxe recommends trying this iced as well, so I will have to experiment.
Flavors: Citrus, Ginger, Licorice
I bought this in store at Tealuxe, first time I’ve been to their shop; it was packed! Anyway, I got to try this tea at home later. This has a lot of my favorite herbal ingredients: lemongrass, mint, ginger, it even includes licorice root and black pepper in the ingredients list. The savory spiciness of the blend is more pronounced in the dry leaf and it mellows out into more of a medicinal lemon brew with hints of ginger and cooling mint. I’m a total sucker for overly strong herbals so I will probably steep this a while longer next time. This is definitely a great decaf brew for colder months or when my body needs some soothing.
Flavors: Ginger, Lemon, Mint, Pepper
