I’m trying to get over a cold and thought that this might be just the thing. Steeping the tea yields a deep, rich red liquid that smells strongly of currant and hibiscus. Upon drinking, the tart currant flavor overwhelmed any other taste. I wish it was a bit more balanced since I actually like the flavor of enchinacea. Oh well, it is completely drinkable and hopefully will have some magical healing power to kick this cold to the curb!
Preparation
I like Pu-erh. I don’t like this tea…at all. One of the few teas I have just thrown away. The taste was overwhelmingly bitter and astringent. I’m not sure if there was an earthy undertone lurking as I could not get past the bitterness.
Preparation
This tea takes the classic taste of Earl Grey and whips in vanilla. There are definite citrus undertones to it. I really don’t like it straight, but cut with milk and sugar it is delicious. However, adding milk/sugar takes away from the cleanliness of tea I love and turns the tea into more of a dessert.
Preparation
Initially this tisane come off very thin. Relying heavily on its “mentholated relief” for much of its flavor. As it cools, the lemongrass comes out, sweetened almost imperceptibly by the licorice and cloves. It is not spicy, or particularly herby. It remains rather thin, albeit powerfully mentholated. It should be noted that this tisane matches exactly the notes published by the tea house. There are no claims of bold flavor, or intoxicating aroma. It is a drink not so much to be enjoyed but, as the title states, drank as a means of relief of one’s cold like symptoms.
I had this in a coffee shop in Seattle and it tasted a lot better than it’s ever tasted when I make it at home. Kind of funny! It was much more well-blended and maybe not steeped as long as I normally steep it. It was nice to give it a second chance, and I enjoyed it, but I still wouldn’t buy more for myself.
It’s taken me quite a while to get through this. While it’s a nice blend, it’s not the kind of tea that I think about drinking even when I’m not drinking it, or ever get a “craving” for. When I do drink it, it’s been so long that I enjoy it, but I always feel like I want to LOVE it and I can’t do more than just like it. I do (someday, when I have less tea stashed away to use up) want to order some different blends from Remedy Teas, because this is still an interesting blend and I’m very curious to see what some of their other teas are like!
Preparation
My sister bought this for me & it’s really different. The spearmint really mellows the black tea. I can’t taste the chocolate at all but there are little chocolate chips in there!
can’t wait until their online store opens! They do mail order though: remedyteas.com
