I typically don’t like hibiscus, but this blend really works for me. It definitely tastes like plum and smells strongly like a plum or grape flavored tobacco. It’s naturally sweet and naturally fruity-it’s practically a juice. I was slightly surprised with the lower reviews on here, but I was in the mood for something sweet and I love eating plums, so it totally appeals to me. I can see why some people might not enjoy it as much because the oolong taste is more for the background, while the plum and hibiscus are more prominent. Not something for a tea purist, but definitely for those who like purple fruits.

Finally found a way to drink this that I don’t totally hate! In a last ditch attempt to make this a redeemable tea I added a few splashes of milk to the liquor post steeping, and it did wonders for pulling all of the flavours together.
The butter flavour from the oolong base, which has been my biggest complaint, was a lot more masked/muted and with the thicker, creamier mouthfeel because of the milk it felt a lot less oily and weirdly scummy and more appropriately thick. In fact, it kind of made me think of someone just beginning the process of churning butter – before it had gotten all thick, but was still just slightly viscous. The peach notes feel less ‘floaty’ too, and instead of being painfully juxtaposed to the creamy butter notes there’s a smoother bond where you’re transitioning from creamy, buttery and milky oolong to a more creamy, sweet peach flavour. No obvious disconnect between flavours.
This is 100% an improvement!

I think my biggest problem is honestly the really rich, intense buttery notes from the base more than anything else. It’s too buttery and that’s a problem because other flavour notes like the roastiness, or lighter floral notes and notes of nuts are getting badly masked.
When I worked at a movie theatre, I remember this sort of ‘inside joke’ type thing where when staff went to the movies (as we often did, because they were all free) we’d get asked at concession ‘would you like butter on that’ with everything. It was a way of poking fun at management’s constant urge to up sell the butter. Well, there were a few times I actually said yes – just to do it. Butter in my sprite, on my nachos, and in a bag of fuzzy peaches…
This is kind of like that butter in the fuzzy peaches except it’s as if there’s more butter than peach candy. Actually, it’s like having a bag of butter and someone through in three or four fuzzy peaches. The peaches are an after thought.
Side note; don’t even get me started on those nasty ass bags of ‘butter flavored oil’ that we used for the free pumps in the lobby. If you’re going to the movies and you want butter on your popcorn pay the damn 50 cents for the real butter. Seriously; it’s fresh, comes solid like butter should and gets slowly melted down like you would at home for fresh popper popcorn. The free stuff in the lobbies is literally butter flavored oil.
I popped one of the bags (they’re like the size of a large bag of flour) by accident once while I was changing it in the lobby and totally wrecked my uniform by drenching myself in that nasty ass oil. I still gag thinking about how bad it smelled; and I swear I could smell it on me days afterwards.
I’ll end on a positive note for the tea though: at least it’s better hot than it is cold.
This one comes from Liquid Proust. I’ve never heard of the company before and I’ll admit that after my experience with this cold brew I’m kind of hesitant to look further into them.
I think my whole experience could probably be summed up by saying that this either tasted like low quality gas station Peach strudels or mentioning that I spent the entire time drinking this convinced that there must have been turned coconut in the blend despite not seeing anything resembling coconut in the dry leaf. However, to elaborate I just don’t think the elements tied in together well. The oolong was rather floral and at the same time quite buttery, and that just doesn’t work well for me like I think I’ve mentioned in other reviews.
The ‘peach’ was actually ok, but didn’t taste like peach. Instead it was like some sort of slightly better than alright sweetened general stonefruit type of flavour. It probably could have passed just as easily as, say, apricot.
Maybe it’ll be better hot. Hopefully it’ll be better hot.

I was glad to see some twisted up green oolong in this blend because I don’t see it very often. The sweetness doesn’t completely overtake the tea which is nice and it can brew a few times while changing the flavor and still being desirable. Smelling this tea is one great experience.
While plum does not sound appealing to me, I have been convinced that Pooki’s Mahi sells nice oolongs so I gave this one a try. This brews a dark purple liquid with a strong aroma. Tasting this tea was odd for me because it had plum notes all throughout my sips, but I don’t like plums so as I enjoyed this tea I was somewhat perplexed by the experience. I will say that this is mixed, blended, and flavored quite well.
Finally after drinking 5 pots of this tea over the last week I am able to evaluate it!
I find this tea to be described in an unusual way as I find it to taste like what straight oolong would be described as by my taste buds. While that may not make much sense, it really is a straight oolong taste with no undertones which surprises me because it taste like some oolong tea that has been processed somewhere high up. I really enjoy this tea even though the first few cups made me think it was just a usual cup of tea but as I drank it I realized that its the pureness of this tea that makes me enjoy it- just as I enjoy my gyokuro because of its close to pure definition of what I would say green tea should taste like all on its own.
