The last of my initial kombucha haul, though I am sure I will get more before this trip is done. This was probably my least favourite of the four I bought, though it was still nice. It did taste like both cherry and cola, though a bit more cherry. What through me was kind of two parts, the first being the fact it was a little more watered down tasting than any of the other’s I’d picked up from this company. The second was that the cola note specifically was a little off. It tasted vinegar-y but not in the normal kombucha way. More like that SUPER weird “natural cola” trend that went viral on TikTok where people were using balsamic vinegar to make cola. Doesn’t really work.

Though it’s tough the give the Saskatoon Berry kombucha a run for its money, I think this is actually my favourite kombucha I’ve drank so far while on vacation. It starts very bright, acidic and tropical with a note that’s sort of even parts fresh pineapple juice and kombucha vinegar. It then moves into a very rich, sweet and fresh coconut note that leaves a soft lingering sweetness on the palate and just perfectly balances out the acidity of the pineapple. It was very much like past favourite coconut blends that are no longer available, like DAVIDsTEA’s veerrryyy long since retired Coconut Grove.

The balance was just really good, and it was so fun and summery!

I got quite a few bottles of kombucha from this company from the local market because, of the brands they were carrying, they had the most interesting flavours offered. Also, though, I plan on having so many Saskatoon Berry products while I’m here…

This was so good though, but maybe that’s at least partly because it was DEEPLY nostalgic tasting. Fresh, juicy Saskatoon berries (like a blueberry and cranberry cross) with a very light but still faintly present acidity from the kombucha vinegar. I really liked how the berry notes lingered on the tip of the tongue after each sip.
