This came in a gift pack so I wasn’t expecting the best but was pleased with my morning cup. It seemed to have enough kick to start the day.

A nice little afternoon tea—perfect with a touch of honey.

Made a small pot (2 slightly rounded teaspoons loose tea, ~400 mL boiling water) this afternoon – one cup straight, one steeped ~30 seconds longer with unsweetened soya milk added. I usually take black tea with sugar, but I’m pleased to find out that I like this one just fine without. I had the milky cup with a blueberry brownie, which played nicely off the tea’s citrusy notes.

Admittedly, I bought this tea for the tin – Beatrix Potter characters, plus it was on sale! How could I pass that up?

I’ve made this tea 4 or 5 times now, and it actually stands out from the dozen or so other bagged black teas I have in my pantry. My tea-tasting isn’t very well honed yet, but it tastes… zingier, I guess? Good with or without milk. I won’t be running out of this anytime soon, but when I do, I think I’ll be buying it again.

This came in a cute London bus tin with a coin slot at the top for re-use as a money box once the tea bags are finished. I like the smell a lot, the bag is smaller than I was expecting so it’s good that I used my small cup. It tastes very good with milk and sugar.

I am new to really exploring with these teas but I received this tea as a gift from my grandma and I actually really like it. It has a bold flavor but it very easy just sit back and sip on. I added a teaspoon of raw sugar and soy milk to it after tasting it alone. I enjoy both ways.

This is part of a gift pack of 3 teas that my in-laws brought back from England for me. I am having this today for the last day of the London Olympics. I had a great time watching them!

This is actually the loose version of the tea. This was very bold and malty. I had it with milk as the English would. Honestly, I think this tea would maybe be a little harsh without the milk, but with milk it is nice and smooth.

This packs a bit of a punch, but great for this morning as I was only half awake and was getting for another long shift at the hospital.

drank Earl Grey by New English Teas

My mother came back from holiday with 25 bags of this tea in a wonderful tea caddy just for me :) What a lovely gift.

Tested with a milk/creamer.

It has the unmistakable fragrance of a nice Earl Grey (sweetly bergamot with strong black earthy tea) and also smells very fresh. Taste wise the bergamot is very subtle and to be honest I would say this tastes more like a standard black tea rather than an Earl Grey. I drink Twinings Earl Grey every day as my standard tea and compared to that this tea is very bland. So bland that my husband could not even tell that it was an Earl Grey.

As an Earl Grey tea I would not pick this one often if at all. Rated as a standard black tea I would say this is refreshing and ever so slightly sweet from natural sources (which in this case would be the tiny amount of bergamot).

Overall I would say this is a nice strong black tea that is perfect for every day use for a pick me up.

My in-laws brought this back from England for me because they know how much I love tea! It came in a package with 2 other teas in cute little English tins.

This doesn’t specifically say what kind of tea that it is, just Sri Lanka. I am assuming it is Assam because of the little pellets. And the smell. It has a strong, bold, malty flavour. It is strong, which is expected with English tea, so I figured it needed a dash of milk like the English drink it. Wow, what a difference, this tea is now transformed into a smooth, malty, and bold tea….right up my alley for a good start to the day!

This loose leaf English Breakfast selection was in my New English Teas gift pack that Santa brought me this year. I am sipping it now as I speak…uh…type.

I am enjoying this tea. It has a bold and full flavor. My tastebuds are reading malt and a hint of spice. I am not detecting any bitterness.

I brewed the tea for three minutes at 212 degrees. This method produced lots of flavor, even in the first cup.

All in all, this has the rich, complete, and signature flavor for which fine British teas are known. It’s still too soon to know how the caffeine content will revive my metabolism, but I do believe I feel my eyes starting to open wider.

drank London Tea by New English Teas

Santa must have stopped off in London before he got to my house this year and picked up a New English Teas gift pack for me. I really like the cute little tins that are shaped like a British double-decker bus, phone booth, and royal guard station.

This London Tea has a nice mellow flavor. There is a taste of malt, as well as the familiar full black tea flavor that seems to be standard with most of the British blends. The tea has a light mahogany color after brewing for three minutes at 212 degrees.

This variety was phenomenal with the addition of a few cakes of genuine Scottish shortbread. Tea and shortbread are obviously made for each other. Like all of the British varieties I have tried so far, this tea is best described as pleasant and tasty.
