Sipdown! My second afternoon cup, and a very enjoyable final encounter. I love the slightly heady, floral, gin-like element the juniper contributes. It sets it apart from pretty much every flavoured black tea I’ve tried so far. Yummy AND unique — what a combination! Thanks again to Memily for sharing with me!

A sample from Memily! I’ve tried this one both black and with milk recently, and I actually like both equally. Maybe a slight leaning preference towards the black, because I get more of the “berry” notes, and it tastes somehow juicier. The milk seems to muddle things a bit — it becomes harder to define the flavours, although it is deliciously creamy. Still, no complaints about a versatile milk/no milk tea!

I gave 1 tsp of leaf about 3.5 minutes in boiling water for both cups. At first, I thought there was too much going on in the flavour for me to really be able to enjoy. Then, as it cooled, I had a “Huh? Gin?” moment. That’s when I knew there was juniper in here, even without having read the ingredients. Yay for my palate! Underneath the strong juniper is a hint of dark, berry fruitiness. I’m reminded a little of Whispering Pines’ Elder Grove. The black tea is smooth and somehow juicy, which in turn put me in mind of Butiki’s leafhopper blacks – Taiwanese Wild Mountain and Mi Xian particularly.

I think it’s safe to say I really enjoy this one! It’s got lots of flavour, and the black base is lovely. An easy winner.

Oh, so the 2L I cold steeped in the fridge was actually the last I had of this, go figure! Still drinking down that 2L but being a bit imaginative with it. Bumping up the rating too because I think I added a little extra to finish my stock but it’s come out quite strong. So!

Tonight I’m drinking it as a tea pop, spliced with soda water. It’s amazing, actually. Best way I’ve drunk it yet! And while I’ve had fun with this, I won’t be restocking it.

Finally had some of this as a cold brew after throwing a bunch of it in the big Takeya 2L jug when my friends were here. Yum. Very tart and such a dark red! I’m better there’s a lot of hibiscus in this blend, as well as those berries.

Do you know what? This one is named pretty appropriately—or at least inspiredly. That’s not a word though, is it? Anyway. Knowing it was called summer puddin’, I drank it and thought of summer puddings, and it seemed pretty spot on. I’m looking forward to trying it iced.

Ok, I have to do it.

I have to bump my rating for this up.

This tea needs to always be in my cupboard. (Even though I’m going to go without for a little while, until I’ve gotten a bit further through my sipdowns.)

After this afternoon’s milk & sugar mistake, I remedied with a 3min boiling steep with the last of my leaves. Yum. Just perfect on its own.

I left a bit in the timolino to take home after work and compare with the cold brew I’d prepared and bottled.

DAYUM

AHHHHH

IT’S PERFECT :((((((((((

Seriously, I think I cold brewed for around 12hrs and it’s SO fresh and SO sweet and SO… I wanna say juicy, which is weird, but oh man. I am in love. Amazing cold brew. AMAZING COLD BREW I wonder how long I can hold out from restocking.

Let’s see.

My suspicions were correct for once and milk + sugar was not the right choice to make for this blend. Keep it black, friends! Maybe even cold steep it because I did that a couple of days ago and I haven’t drunk it yet but I did have a little teaser sip and I’m pretty sure it’s gonna taste like heaven.

Ooooo neat

Back to an old favourite this morning. I really love this black and unsweetened, but after my milk & sugar run of the last month I kind of want to experiment. (I didn’t, though. Not yet.)

I did it! I didn’t oversteep at work! Huzzah! And the good news is that this is a lovely flavoured black tea, hints of berry sweetness with a delicious medium black tea base. Yes, this is very nice.

Guess what! I oversteeped this! Hahahaha yeah cool. Gotta stop attempting decent brews while I’m on the phones at work. Maybe tomorrow…

Thanks Azz for this one! I can mostly taste the juicy sencha with floral and citrus and strawberry notes. The mango is more in the aftertaste, really. Super Tasty!

This is the first I have had from this company! YAY!

This was one I got from TassieTeaGirl in Australia! Everything she sent to me has been excellent!

The little thumbnail pic of this tea looks like a Van Gogh painting!
