This is my happy tea and now..it is no more. Infusions of tea is gone and this is the last cup. What will save me on those sad mentally grey days? Its got tons of malt and a little honey. The liquor is a bit darker brown than brick and it stands up so well to milk.
Flavors: Honey, Malt
Preparation
I bought a lot of this in what turned out to be infusions of tea going out of business (they said they were going online but never reappeared. I love this tea its subtle reminds you to take it slow and let the flavors unfold. The taste is vegetal but also mineral like the mists its grown in. Theres a light buttery finish. I started to wonder what this might be like combined iwht pine needles, I have a lto of pines outside maybe I will try that next.
Flavors: Butter, Mineral, Vegetal
I can write it up but sadly the company is gone. The day ahs been that way everyone losing their jobs or otherwise things not available. I brewed a big pot to share and now I am sipping it cold on a hot grey afternoon. I love the mineral and floral qualities of this tea. The lovely light gold liquid. Its not enough to cheer me through a tough day but it will see me through! I always think of this as a summer tea.
Preparation
I think I’ve reviewed this tea before, this time I had a tummy ache all night and having found nothing to make it better I decided to try this and it worked! No more sore tummy and now into my third infusion for a nice smooth cup that is helping me ease from a cool morning to a hot (in weather temperature) and fast paced afternoon. I will probably get 6-7 infusions before the malty and earthy tastes disappear.
Flavors: Earth, Honey, Malt
Preparation
This was my first introduction to Genmaicha Matcha which has variations on the spelling. Its still my favorite with the green tea powder adding a depth of flavor and the popped rice just a hint of grainy sweetness. The preparation doesn’t lend itself to rebrewings, the first cup is a strong green that feels like drinking springtime. There are notes of barely and wheat, grass and citrus. I have rebrewed but the resulting cup seems thin and weak. I am looking for replacements for this tea as Infusions of Tea does not seem to be resurfacing but no other brand has had such a depth of flavor.
Flavors: Bamboo, Bread, Grass, Lemon Zest, Roasted Barley
Preparation
It’s got a strong taste to it. Perfect for blending with milk if you’re into that (I’m not) and even with it out it, a nice breakfast tea or something to drink in the winter. Naturally sweet without being too overpowering. A nice gateway tea for recent loose-leaf converts.
Preparation
Included this in a taste test with 4 other assam teas I have. This one came out #3 of the 5, ahead of SpecialTeas Rembeng and Adagio Assam Melody, but behind TeaSource’s Panatola and Ramanugger assam teas. I drink my assams black with sweetener. I steep them 2-2 1/2 minutes to keep astringency away. This is a very good Assam tea.
Preparation
I have been buying steady supplies of this blend from Infusions of Tea for about four years. It may easily be my favorite herbal in the world! Served hot in winter or iced in summer, it reminds me of picking wildflowers. The flavor is slightly tropical, but not cloying. The aroma is floral but clean. Sadly this is only available at Infusions’ single tea shop a few blocks from my former apartment.
