This is a wonderful black tea for breakfast, as the name suggests. Usually, I only drink black tea at night or if I really need a good kick in the morning. I sipped on this tea on a Saturday morning with a hot breakfast, which is paired nicely with. The smell of the tea was intoxicating. It smelled a bit like cocao and scones, so it was sweet and robust all in one. The flavor was so much lighter than the smell of the liquor. The taste is light and gentle. I experienced little to no bitterness or tannins in my cuppa, which is good for someone who may forget about their tea by accident(hey, it happens to us all!). The taste is so smooth, that it naturally tastes as if there was creamer or milk already put into the tea.

This tea is mellow, and soft cup with some subtle red qualities, like earthiness. The caramel flavor is not as strong in the steeped tea, it is there, but is more of a complimentary flavor than an overpowering primary flavor. My favorite part of the tea was how the caramel chunks melted to create a bit of creaminess and thickness in the cup. The melted caramel made the tea taste like I added milk to it, when I didn’t, which was interesting!

In person the leaves look just like droppings. Eww. The smell is straight up strawberry, so the smell is more promising than the appearance!
The tea has a nice strawberry flavor, but there’s an odd old clothes, antique shop, mothball kind of vibe. I like strawberry slender from Teavana much, much better. I won’t be ordering more of this one, unless the second trial is much, much better.
