Aroma Espresso Bar

This was just what I needed yesterday to get me through a day of work-hell. Ugh.
The spices were nice and very balanced. Not as hard hitting as the Guarana Chai from DT but still satisfying. I couldn’t put my finger on any particular spice except cinnamon, which is just how I like it.
I’ll have to try the Guarana again before deciding which one I like better

So after my earlier experience I tried everything I could think of the rid myself of the everlasting nausea. This, while tasty, did not work!
Still, I enjoyed it. The fresh mint makes is very zesty and intense.

Well this was certainly an interesting experience! I’ve never had a truly creamy green tea before. In fact, I’ve never had a TEA that was so creamy. Sure, I’ve had milky oolongs where you can taste the lactose but they always stopped short of being outright soft and well, creamy!
It was also slightly sweet on its own and closer to an oolong in that there was only a hint of grassy in the sip. Now, I was at work so couldn’t really concentrate on taking notes…
The first steep was overdone, as I needed to walk from the cafe all the way to work which is a good 5-8 minute walk. I’d like to try this tea in a gaiwan and see if it maintains that creamy nature… as I suspect it might diminish with shorter steeps.
The second brewing was good to, but naturally less intense. Maybe next time I’ll simply ask for them to fill the bag and give me a cup without any water in it.
I’m curious to see what happens! extra points for that :)

I can’t remember all the details of what went into this tea, they haven’t got it listed on the website… but I know there was pineapple and coconut, and rose-hips, but what else, I cannot recall. Not that it matters, I love it!!!! Pina Colada is an all time favourite of mine. Well, no coconut is, and therefore so is Pina by default :)
The balance of flavours is perfect. Strong, but not overly. The rosehips add that little bit of “tea” that would otherwise be missing.
The only part I disliked was the tartness as it cooled, but my cup was almost empty by then anyhow!
I so wish I could buy this tea to take home.

I had a cuppa omw to work this morning. It was remarkably similar to Lover’s Leap, but simply LESS in most every way. It was less bold, less fruity, less complex, less… everything! in fact, I found it to be rather plain and unmemorable. Maybe I didn’t leave the tea bag in for long enough, but it was in there for a good five minutes, probably longer. I added sugar as well, thank goodness or else it would have been more plain than red rose.
Maybe my expectations were too high. or maybe not, considering I would have traded this for a Tim’s tea if I’d had the opportunity. (not that I would have thrown out a serviceable brew!)

They had no regular milk left so I had to use cream… oh boy was it ever terrible!!! The raisin note and cream don’t mix well together at all. Blech! Also, I suspect that the bag might have been underfilled, as the tea was incredibly weak. I drank the entire thing with the bag in and the flavour was just not there.
I’m not changing the rating on this, yet. Will see what happens next time, with regular milk. If it doesn’t shape up I’ll be crushed! this was my fave black tea.

What a rush! wow!
I was in a hurry, unsure of what to order, and hadn’t even tried my customary test sip to see if it needed sugar/milk, which I decided to go with just in case… they make the tea scalding hot, no way was I doing that! So when I got into the office and sat down to enjoy my cuppa, I really had no idea what might be assailing my tongue.
My first sip, I thought: eeeeps! I oversteeped. That’s what I get for morning chitchat.
Second sip: It’s not bad, despite the oversteeping!!
Third sip: I added sugar, but it tastes like there’s none at all. Still, I like it this way!
Fourth sip: ohhh, I really like it this way. I think I’m in love!!
Yes, I did it!!! I found a black tea that I LOVE! well, a plain black, “unflavoured” version anyhow. Extra points for being the first (not counting Marco Polo, but then that one was chosen for me, not that I am begrudging it at all, I’m just taking extra pride in finding this one myself!)
The company website has no description so I don’t really know what’s in it. I think Ceylon?
Anyhow, I can’t remember much in terms of specifics from this morning, but it was malty, and super bold with very little astringency. I could swear there was just a hint of roasted-ness but that was probably the oversteeping. Oh, and my favourite part, the complete novelty part, is the raisin finish!! I’ve noticed raisin notes before, but never this strong, and usually not with milk in them, or as a finish. Yum!
They have another tea that I tried ages ago, which was also amazing. That’s two for two! I wish they had more variety, this is the closest looseleaf shop to my work, and so much better than Teaopia! alas, I will have to settle for their mere ten teas.
