3 Tasting Notes
It needs to be said that this tea looks dead sexy…seriously look at those lovely white tea leaves and that smell purrrrrr …you just want to put your face all over it. Yes I did call a tea sexy and no I do not have any regrets Now for the really important part how does the damn tea taste? It has that nice grassy mellowness you would expect from a white tea but it is the blueberry that really shines here. I found that the pomegranate acts like a buffer that sweetens and smooths the subtle grassy notes with the bolder blueberry. Mellow, grassy and nicely astringent with a strong blue berry flavor. White tea lovers and those who find that whites may not be there thing this is certainly worth a try.
Preparation
What’s the worst day of your life?….this tea is the complete opposite of that. This gorgeous deceitfully mellow black tea is so smooth. It is earthy but just barely it blends in so smoothly with a slight hint of honey along with the richness of black tea. Do not over steep this sucker you’ll lose those lovely notes of honey. Sadly discontinued Black Needles is the best addiction involving needles you will ever have.
Preparation
I was fairly unfamiliar with the Guayusa herb but I heard it can be compared to mate in terms of taste as well as the kick of energy. This tea is fairly sweet think of it as a sweeter mate but with a flavor not nearly as complex. Not that it is a knock against as it is quite nice and refreshing. I drink lots of Mate and Black tea so I don’t really think I’m too caffeine sensitive but damn this tea really got me going. I am more of an earthy guy but I’ll be drinking this one when I have one of those horrific mornings where I wake up with blood shot eyes going through a mild depression when I realize that yes I am this tired and yes I do have a long day ahead of me. Cheers!
