I have tried several times to get “into” green tea, but I’ve always sort of thought it wasn’t my thing. There’s nothing wrong with that, but things have changed now that I’ve being trying out more premium quality tea.
I think my first green tea experience was Celestial Seasonings’ Authentic Green Tea. I’m almost done with the box after having owned it for probably around, give or take, four or five years. That should explain quite a bit. The other green tea that I have is Dancing Leaves loose leaf green tea and while it’s better, I think I could’ve saved my money.
Fast forward to now and I brave another green tea, Adagio Gunpowder, albeit a sample ‘cause I’m too chicken to buy a significant amount. Honestly speaking, this is pretty good. Yes, it’s outside my normal comfort zone of black teas, but I think I’m starting to understand why people drink green tea outside of possible health benefits.
This cup of tea is smokey and grassy, but still enjoyable. It has that slight astringency that I love of tea.
Things are looking better for green tea in general, but it remains to be seen if I will buy more of Adagio’s Gunpowder.
