Vibrant, young matcha powder made from gyokuro. Excellent quality and price for ceremonial-grade matcha. A $22 canister through MyGreenTea lasts me months. I keep this in the refrigerator or freezer, depending on length of time between brews. This is my go-to favorite matcha for traditional preparation.

Great tea as an easy way to enjoy quality sencha at any restaurant! I carry a few individually wrapped tea bags with me as it’s so difficult to find good tea in prepackaged bags. I’d still like the quality to be even greener and more intense, but very acceptable for bagged tea.

Blargh! I can’t tolerate this green tea. It tastes stale, bitter, and bland. Caveat: I was drinking this before I learned how to properly steep green tea (water temp + brew time), so perhaps some of this was operator error.

There is A LOT of better “get sleepy” tea out there. Look harder. Even Bigelow’s version is better than this. This is just bland and old-tasting.

Meh. It’s an OK go-to tea if I’m out and about, avoiding caffeine, and don’t trust the water temperature of the establishment. (e.g. “Go ahead and scald this tea because it can take it.”) A mouth punch with its tartness. I like to leave the teabag in for a long time, making the water almost syrupy.

An unusual oolong that reminded me of buttered popcorn in taste and especially in smell (in a good way). It has a creamy flavor to it – a pleasant departure from the expected. I rated it a 75 in that I enjoyed it but I don’t know anything about its quality or origin. I might update my rating after I learn more. I recommend this tea to adventurous palates but not those expecting a traditional oolong flavor.

I’m snagging AmazonV’s rating scale as I think it’s spot on. (Borrowed word-for-word from http://steepster.com/amazonv)

0-25=Bleh! not again if it were free
25-50=Acceptable, if it were free or there were limited other tea options
50-75=I might purchase this tea from time to time, or select it while out
75-100=A staple in our cupboard from now on, I will purchase and keep purchasing
